The July issue of Hakusensha's LaLa magazine is announcing next Tuesday that a live-action television series adaptation of Bisco Hatori's Ouran High School Host Club manga has been green-lit for this July. The series will feature Yūsuke Yamamoto and Haruna Kawaguchi.

Damn, I was hoping for another anime adaptation to be produced, but with this it seems less likely.
does Funimation have any problems dubbing over a live action series? hahahahahah.. id love to see the anime cast dub over the live action series... but i know we will never see this show in english..
why o why couldnt they reboot the anime to finish it where it left off.. maybe this can help the cause?
how could they do this to us... come on funimation.. give the guys in japan a little nudge nudge and get some animated love back and finish this off!
I too would prefer more anime. A lot of Ouran's humor seems to work best in animated form. Would this be something that would be on Crunchyroll?
crunchyroll doesnt usually simulcast tbs series so i doubt it would be on there. this.....why who the heck thought it would be a good idea for a ouran la show?
Other than the gags (which are half of the charm), Ouran's realistic enough that this could work...but I'd much rather have gotten a second season of anime.

I personally have seen tons of live action Japanese shows and I'm familiar with some of the actors that will be in it, so I'm actually excited about this. It'll be interesting and probably hilariously funny. I've seen enough live action adaptations of anime and manga to know that it probably won't suck.
As for another season or whatever of the anime, I doubt that's ever gonna happen because of the way they ended the first one. How exactly could they continue from there and get back to the manga story? I dunno. It's disappointing, yeah, but I've gotten over it.
umm easy.. they continue with the club, then haruhi does what she does in the manga and.. well you know.. im not gonna spoil it for those who dont know its ending.. they can make storylines to fill to the point of the manga's end.. or they could cop out and start a new series from the end of manga and create their own storylines
Hell yes! Ouran J-drama! That actually makes me way happier than more anime.
Yusuke Yamamoto = more Arashi!
He also plays the esper dude in the Hana Kimi drama.
This seems as though it will end well
although i would enjoy some more of the anime
maybe someday they will continue the series haha i hope so
Yay! there's someone else who's excited about it!
When I first got into J-dramas I wondered why there wasn't an Ouran live-action so I've been expecting (and wanting) this for a while. Considering how off-the-wall ridiculous Hana Kimi got at times, I think they can pull Ouran off in live action.
Plus there's a live-action of The Wallflower.....go figure, and that one's really popular (although I personally haven't seen it), so I'm not gonna worry about how this will turn out.
