IM sad there is no secoond serice left. but i herd too that its comeing out in 2011 in december but not 100% sure. I hope it dose come out. my sister an i love this show. for anime convention we cut her hair like haruhi's and she has her skin color and body type. so she is her all the time. we both r in love with thhe twins and want more of the show. i pray there is a new season soon
umm, I hate to burst yall's bubbles, seeing how I love this series and even myself would love more seasons, but...Maybe the reason there is no season 2 ,yet atleast, is probably everyone is so quick to watch it for free on youtube instead of actually buying the anime....besides, if there were more dvd's sold to people why would they not want to make more money by making a season 2 and so on, but another reason I might think could be the cause....The people in charge of another possible season, might be using the whole marketing promotion to make you most suspenseful, getting everyone riled up till that last moment people almost stop hoping, then give you what you've been waiting for and hoping that you are more than happy to pay double maybe even triple just to get what you want....It's sometimes worth it, but in this case if everyone stopped using youtube to watch stuff for free we might get that second season sooner, hopefully one day if all of my businesses are thriving enough, if my hypothesis is untrue and they really did throw any future seasons, I will definitely give ouran fans what they've been waiting for by sponsoring as many seasons as possible, it would be quite the investment.... but it would only be worth it if youtube was shut down, ugh....
I liked the anime's ending i thought it wrapped it up perfectly ( i literally cried!) you can read the manga's ending to if you want. Oh and it's my favorite anime to.
I think Ouran just falls victim to the 'Shojo Anime Curse'. It seems like a lot of major shojo manga, when they get adapted, end up being only 24 to 26 episodes. There are exceptions of course, but it happens quite a bit.
So you would think with Ouran's rampant popularity (though it seems to have died down a bit now) that it'd be a shoe-in for another anime, but I'm afraid that at this point that ship has sailed. Especially with the live-action drama adaption doing fairly well I think.
Actually, a lot of series in general are only getting 24-26 episodes or even just 12-13 episodes lately. I think the anime market in Japan is much weaker than people realize.
Plus with the Japanese government getting so censorship-happy, especially on any homosexual content, a series that likes to play games with that kinda content is probably a harder sell to investors.
It takes a lot of money to make anime and I don't think fans fully understand just how hard it can be to get people to part with that cash. Many anime are only produced with the idea that they'll be advertising for the manga too, so quite a few creators and companies have no intention of actually finishing the story in anime format.

who knows.. maybe the movie can help spur on future development (whether anime or live action season 2).. but i think the creator is starting a new manga this year so ouran is probably done in all formats after the movie..... the creator was involved with the making of the live action movie, so storylines were on the creator's terms..
maybe funimation can try to pick up the live action and movie rights for ouran.. youll see the same 12 storylines as before, but hey its still ouran..

I suggest a season 2, so much incompleteness, I thought people would find out he is a she at the end atleast.
