Exactly what Sound Monkey said. Stop the constant fighting, while I understand everyone has their own opinion, we don't need to do constant fighting to prove your own opinion.

Really? Over something that insignificant?

Well basically your statement says that the reason you prefer the anime over the manga is because of the worst part of the anime (i.e. the filler). So from my stand point that raises a lot of red flags...

Quote:
Am I the only person who notices that the filler's come from the front cover's of chapters from the Manga's? Or are some of you guy's idiots?

Apparently YOU are because only 2 of the filler where based on cover arcs (the Buggy Arc and the Coby Arc), the rest are written by the Toei staff. If you actually read the manga, you’d know that.

Quote:
Also gomu... If I could laugh in you're face then I would because you're also an idiot... Also.. whoever that guy is, he's not always right. So you can clean that bit off.

No Maddox IS always right, you’d see that if you had the comprehension to understand his site. Anyway, being called an idiot by a guy who misspelled "your" twice (you basically said “if I could laugh in you are face...” dumb ass) doesn’t mean much, especially after the old forum already proved you to be insane. So save your come backs for someone at your intellectual level, like kindergarteners.

Filler is a nessecarry thing in long running anime series...

It’s only necessary because anime companies make 50 + episodes a year, if they did it like an american show (20+ then a break till fall), there would never be a need for filler, ever.

Quote:
I mean I personally enjoy the filler in the 1st Naruto series. and what little One Piece filler i have seen is decent.

Speaking of red flags, admitting to liking Naruto filler is like admitting to liking Yanni, you’ve just negating all of your opinions with that statement. -_-

Anyway, just had to respond to the replies (I’m not trying to restart an argument, but if people reply to me I reply back, so if people don’t want to hear what I have to say all they have to do is not respond). I’ll leave it at that.

Well that is not how Japan rolls with their broadcasting. The major channel air new episodes all year round and the smaller channels do re-airings/encore runs of shows.

As for OP's anime only arcs, the only redeeming factor about them is that they don't interrupt the manga arcs.

No one is always right gomu, remember that. Also I didn't know I had to use 100% correct spelling, didn't know it was English class, and I don't care if people find me insane, I'm quite proud of it smile
Also I do read the Manga.

Re: One Piece Funimation DVD thread

@gomu gomu: Um....I said it's only part of it and it's not filler in specific. It's variety the adaptations provide.

Trust me, there are many more reasons I prefer anime to manga and some far bigger than the above.

I also liked the Naruto filler for the most part. [A few exceptions and all of them oneshots. Haven't disliked an arc yet.]

I'll just be honest. I enjoy filler in general and the ones I thought were bad make up a very small percentage even combining all the anime I've seen.

But I really don't care enough to debate about it. So I'll just agree to disagree and drop it. I'll respect your opinion and I hope you can respect mine and not callously discard it.

@Everyone: But this topic has been derailed enough, so regardless of subject, my next comment will pertain to the topic of DVD releases.

It is when you are trying to call someone stupid. Little tip for the future, when calling someone stupid it's best not look completely stupid your self.

Also I do read the Manga.

Then you must not pay attention to it if you thought that all the filler was based on the cover arcs when in reality NONE OF THEM WERE (the two cover arcs that were animated don't actually count as filler since they were in the manga thus making them canon, so in reality even if all the actually filler arcs were based on cover arcs then that would mean that OP has no filler, which is not the case). Again I only pointed this out because you were attempting to call people stupid for not knowing this very very wrong "fact". Second tip for the future, don't try to "own" people with information unless you've actually bothered to fact check said information, because otherwise it makes it very easy for other people (like me) who actually do have facts to poke giant holes in your statements. Class is dismissed.

I'll accept that. Respect level back to average cool

Except for that one that did, the Davy Back Filler (it wasn't an entire arc, but they mixed filler into the canon, more or less ruining it). Also they side tracked both the Logue Town story line and the early Alabasta stories with random filler, though those are much easier to skip than the DBF filler.

Anyway, DVD topic....Anyone else wish there was more commentary? I'm not saying they need to load the sets up with crazy special features, but like 1 or 2 more episode commentaries would be nice, I generally enjoy hearing the cast's insight.

Re: One Piece Funimation DVD thread

Man I haven't been on these forums in a while, especially this folder. Anyway, just got through the whole thread, and thought I'd respond to some of this stuff.

Still no Season 4 confirmation? What's taking them so long?

Right now at this point I'd think it'd have to be something happening on Toei Animation's end. They're unreasonable at times. Though right now I wouldn't get worried. I'd start getting worried if we don't get any news at the end of this year.

Okay the One Piece Collection 1 Cover Art is up and i'm liking it alot.

Man that's a nice collection box. Though I'm still thinking about double dipping when I start buying One Piece in a couple of years (I don't have a job yet and I'm still in high school.).
Eresir wrote:
Hold on- You guys would buy this for the cover art?

What a waste of money, considering that you'd only look at the cover art for a couple seconds before you put the DVD in.
It kind of is, but you can't help sometimes but physically own the set with nice art. I ocassionally even look at the art on my Bleach Season 1 Box Set (One of the only anime DVD's I have.) without even putting the DVD's in.

That's an understatement.

But wouldn't it make more sense to spend that money on the One Piece stuff you haven't got?

Re: One Piece Funimation DVD thread

Not to sound like a b*tch but... the Bleach covers are just characters... there's no art or any style to it at all, just slap on the characters and that's that.. Just like Kubo's work >_>

Anyway I'll be buying the collection 1 just for the cover, I won't be putting the DVD in.
And I agree with Eresir, wouldn't it make more sense to spend the money on the OP stuff you ain't got? I know I would.
