I've yet to see filler from any show that wasn't good.
How ironic because I've never seen filler that is good. And yes I have seen G8 and good isn't a word I'd use to describe it. Most people call it the best of OP's filler but that is an over exaggeration, it's just OP's least sh*tty filler. It's borning, trit and has no pay off (what's the point of building up Captain John to be powerful only to have no fight at all?) and like all filler there is a pointless Sanji cooking episode. It's like the Toei writers pay no real attention to the canon episodes so when it comes time to write the filler they just make all the characters into generic clones based on their "job". Oh Sanji is cook so he has to cook, Usopp makes stuff so let's have him make fireworks, oh Robin loves to read so lets have her read all the time. The filler boils down to two types typically: Filler about helping little kids with some retarded task or helping old people with some retarded task or both and the Marines often end up being the generic bad guys. I've never seen a filler that even comes close to being as good as the canon (especially those insanly stupid Detective Luffy episodes, whose f**king idea was that s**t?).

But the fillers in One Piece are brilliant.
Hahahaha, noooooooooo, I think you need to look up the definition of brilliant because they are most certainly not. Derivative, pointless and out of character, yes, but brilliant, no. If I ever see a filler that is at least adequate, I'll reconsider my stance, but as it is, all of OP's filler ranges from mediocre to eye bleedingly bad.
That is you;re opinion. Most people like the OP fillers, I like them. Eye bleeding bad? You need to look at Bleach or Naruto fillers if you want eye bleeding bad.

I personally find the notion of filler automatically being bad to be complete nonsense.
If anything, they can really help flesh things out with select few exceptions.
The presence of filler and variety is another aspect of anime that has it fit my preference over manga. [There's a reason I shun DBZ Kai in favor of the original]
Now, everyone has their opinion and taste, which I respect. But I do find 'filler agony' to be a BS generalization and OP is no exception out of the many anime that suffer from it. [I'm referring specifically to instances where just the mention of it results in an uproar.]
More on-topic, I'll definitely be buying the latest set....just as soon as I catch up to it. I'm still at the Alabasta Arc in my collection. ^__^'
As far as more episodes go, I really wouldn't worry about it. Fans should just be patient. Not everything is announced right away or even gets finalized right away. We've heard enough to know more is coming, so we should just be happy we have that much to go on until the licensing announcement.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with the One Piece fillers but meh, whatever.

Personally, the only filler arc I enjoy in One Piece is the G8 arc. In my opinion, the Memory arc is the weakest out of all the one piece fillers. I understand that these are subjective, but I'm trying to be cool about it while trying not to end up in arguments.
I'm going to have to quote the great profit Maddox on this one:
Quote:
Any time you say something sucks around someone who disagrees, they try to validate their taste in sh*tty music/movies/clothing by reminding you that you still only speak for yourself, as if their opinions are in jeopardy of being monopolized by your own. Everyone already knows it's my opinion by virtue of the fact that I said it, no need to restate the obvious you dopey twat.
Truely he is a poet, and he's also always right. Stating the obvious fact that it's my opinion doesn't somehow make my point wrong, nor does it make yours magically right, all it does is make you look stupid. So to summerize my response is: Duh?

I never said that by some kind of virtue it was automatically bad, just that it alway happens to be bad. I'm not talking about stuff I haven't seen; I've seen every episode of OP and thus every filler. I've given the filler every chance and every time it epicly fails. Why is that? Because filler is inherently bad? No, because filler writers don't know how to f**king write! They view writing with the same passion the teen who makes your McGriddle every morning does, as in none. To them it's just a job, no effort, no care, no concern. The author loves the series and puts his heart and soul into it, that is why the series is good in the first place. I even test the theroy of care VS work by writing a OP story simply to prove that a writer who cares about the materal will always write better than someone who doesn't. Now while it's impossible for me to un-biasly judge my own work, pretty much everyone whose read it thinks it's great and very close to the source material. Why is that? Because I actually love OP where as Toei only care about how much money they can milk out it with as little effort as possible put in. So long as filler writers don't care, filler will continue to suck.

That's not even close to being true, most time they ruin the canon and have even controdicted it several times. I've seen next to no filler that expanded on anything other then them mmaking Zoro's back story longer.

At the risk of being MODed, you are an idiot. That is all.
@Gomu gomu: Well, I can respect your opinion, but I disagree. From what I've seen, it tends to blend in very well and the writing is more a case of 'YMMV.' It's not for everyone, but I'd hardly call it genuinely bad.
Also, please note I was talking about anime in general, not just One Piece, in my above statements.
Also, in my first sentence, I was talking about the overreacting fandom in general. Not you in specific.
Am I the only person who notices that the filler's come from the front cover's of chapters from the Manga's? Or are some of you guy's idiots?
Also gomu... If I could laugh in you're face then I would because you're also an idiot... Also.. whoever that guy is, he's not always right. So you can clean that bit off.

People Calm Down. Filler is a nessecarry thing in long running anime series, and c'mon overall most arn't that bad. I would say a decent chunk of filler are at the very least entertaining. I mean sure theres bad filler, but for the most part Filler eps are just for fun. I mean I personally enjoy the filler in the 1st Naruto series. and what little One Piece filler i have seen is decent.
