The new cover art looks beast, i've been debating with double dipping, but this is pushing me towards double-dipping.

Re: One Piece Funimation DVD thread

Hold on- You guys would buy this for the cover art?

What a waste of money, considering that you'd only look at the cover art for a couple seconds before you put the DVD in.

Well I already have the voyages, and yes, I will buy this just for the cover art. Waste of money? Oh no child, this is One Piece. It's not a waste of money at all pirate
Plus if it helps out the series, that's another good reason for me to get it pirate

New cover looks nice, but I don't like it enough to double-dip.

Though even if I did, my anime shelf is already pressed for space.

Re: One Piece Funimation DVD thread

So are these re-releases the reason we haven't heard anything about a post G-8 set yet? Usually they have upcoming sets announced before the current set is released, but so far I've seen nothing on a season 4 part 1 set. Considering that they weren't even dubbing during the year of pre recorded Skypiea DVDs, it makes you wonder what's going on. Sonny Straight sort of confirmed that their would be more episodes, but it doesn't explain what they have been doing all this time and why no announcements have been made in reguard hmm to post Skypiea episodes.

Also, two seasons in a row we get a full filler set? Are they just asking for people not to buy the sets or what? I sure as hell ain't buying a set of pure filler. I mean I love FUNi to death and want to support them, but I refuse to buy a set of full filler. If there had been even 1 canon episode I would have gotten it, but no, all filler. No thank you, there is enough crap on TV, I don't need to pay for it nervous This upcoming section is actually a really annoying patch of filler too since they mix it into the canon, basically ruining the real story for the most part. Then there is full filler after that (based on a lame video game no less) followed by more filler and then them having to fill in the plot hole their filler made by making an episode that should have accured right after the DBF. Nice going Toei, you put the "ill" in filler angry

Re: One Piece Funimation DVD thread

Okay, first of all the G8 arc is very well received filler. While it doesn't contribute to the main story, it's a fun little distraction. As for Season 4, it's been said that FUNimation wants to keep going and the ball is now in Toei's court. Of course, this is par for the course when it comes to Toei, if you were around for the Toonami era it took an entire year to transition from the Freeza arc of Dragonball Z to the Android arc. The moral is these things take time and all we can do is keep buying the DVDs and placing the pressure to make a deal on Toei.

Re: One Piece Funimation DVD thread

Why do people automatically assume filler is bad?

I've yet to see filler from any show that wasn't good.

Re: One Piece Funimation DVD thread

Guys, Don't think filler is bad just because it's not in the Manga, it's only a short filler. But the fillers in One Piece are brilliant. Plus there's hardly any filler in the series itself, so I'm sure just paying a bit more for the filler set won't do any harm. It's a fun filler aswell, so your losing out if you don't buy it.
