Re: one piece current manga discussion spoilers heavy
Well it's been a few weeks but man has it gotten good. I really liked the latest chapters since it set up the big battles. I was a little worried that the fishmen weren't offering enough of a challenge to the straw hats but now it seems as if we've got some really good fights coming up. But on to bigger issues (literally) I'm really interested in how Luffy will stop Noah (if he does at all) I'm guessing this will ultimately play into Shirley's prediction.
Also this has been a theory I've heard going around but does anyone else think Noah might be one of the "ancient weapons" like Pluton? Given that there's also a ponyglyph down on fishman island it doesn't seem to far-fetched to me.

I like how we're finally see who's going to be facing who in the latest arc. I managed to be correct in my assumptions on Zoro, Franky, and Brook's fights. Usopp and Chopper played with my expectations, though.

We didn't know what lied ahead even BEFORE they split up. I'm sure Oda's got tons of ideas for islands they can visit.
I'm also certain they'll visit Elbaf eventually. Since we met Brogy and Dorry, it's be one of Usopp's dreams, much like going to Fishman Island was one of Sanji's dreams. It'd also be nice to see the culture that surrounds the giants of Elbaf.

Just as Oda hasn't given us a list of locations where they could arrive, it doesn't mean that there aren't any potential settings beyond Elbaf. All of the locations where the other Eight Supernovas (were sighted would make for eight locations including an island where you can stand on air (where Apoo was last sighted) and a location where the weather is perpetual rain... Only the rain is lightning (where Urouge was last sighted).
The land after Paradise should definitely be exciting as Nami once again (like with prior to the entry and experience of the Grand Line) seems to be unaware of why the Log Pose isn't working. When we consider that dinosaur islands (Little Garden), Poop Islands (Nothing at All Island) and islands with 48 seasons (Luffy's training location) were in the Grand Line and that there are several mainly undiscovered places (like Skypeia), we should see plenty of stuff along with maybe a peaceful place or two for contrast (like Alabasta albeit the lack of rain due to Rain Powder overuse at a time).
Also if you look at the Wikia Link below, you can see that the New World still branches out to an extent and we can expect to see places which aren't found on the Log Pose (or the future tool) like Thriller Bark iirc.
Sorry for not posting the image up directly but I don't believe FUNimation Forums permit us posting scans of the manga.
The one I want to see out of the known ones is Wano (where Ryuuma the Samurai originated from) so we can see the differences between it and Monsters' portrayal.
Like a boss.

Re: one piece current manga discussion spoilers heavy
So Luffy has learned to copy his brother's technique, but did he just punch a hole in Hody's chest with it?!
I'd be surprised if Luffy actually killed him, but not surprised that Hody would be killed. He's a type of villain we've never seen in One Piece. He has no dreams, no ideals, no motivation. He simply bears the grudge of the previous generation. In One Piece, people fight with their dreams on the line and losing that dream is akin to death, but how do you defeat someone who has no dream? Hody is like a puppy that was raised for dogfighting, just a victim of circumstance. It's not his fault he's become a violent beast, but there's no other choice but to put him down.
This hasn't exactly been my favorite arc of the manga, but it's definitely been interesting.

I totally did not notice the similarities between Luffy's new technique and Ace's and/or Akainu's attack. All I thought of was "I hope Hody Jones gets killed by this".
Really, Hody Jones is just someone who has to be killed. He's not like the other villains who will just have their dreams ruined and/or will be redeemed. Hody Jones was brought up hating humans. He's willing to sacrifice his own life and the lives of EVERYONE ON FISHMAN ISLAND just to kill as many humans as he can. He's insane, he's a mad man, he needs to be stopped before he can cause anymore harm!

Alright we're back, I was ok with this chapter though I only felt it was leading up to next chapter
The latest chapter... meh. That's all I really have to say about it.
Really, it's mostly just hints at a bigger story, cleaning up what happened in the last chapter and setting up the next one. Nothing really special.

A visit to the Wano Country would be AWESOME! That thought never occurred to me, honestly...
