Re: one piece current manga discussion spoilers heavy
@thelastgogeta Yeah Luffy's hero argument was pretty funny. As for speculation on Sanji I'm guessing he heard (possibly learned) about it from Ivancov, the same can be said for Zoro with Hawkeye. Although in the later case that makes me wonder why Hawkeye didn't use Haki to actually cut Buggy?
Did I just replace one question with another?

It would make sense that Ivankov gave Sanji the heads up on Haki and likewise with Zoro and Hawkeye since those two are the furthest up fighters where there were. On the note of whether Mihawk or Ivankov have Haki, it isn't confirmed that they do or that they need it.
Ivankov was outright confirmed to not be using "Haki" at least for his Death Wink (prior to when it was defined with all of the current terms) in the SBS Volume 56, Chapter 542 Edition: "I've gotten a lot of letters asking if Death Wink is a kind of haki, but it's a blast that is created by winking."
It isn't necessary that they need to show it to teach it as many developed it or knew of it without using it. As far as the war's events, it is possible that both character could have simply not chosen to use Haki or been using it all along as all Vice Admirals (and even Coby) can and they didn't stomp that much or appear that special. The latter isn't an option for Mihawk though the Rule of Funny may justify it.

Volume 63 will have a record print run of 3.9 million units. ANN is reporting that it'll be that big. This is the 7th volume in a row to have a record print run. The previous two volumes each had a print run of 3.8 million units.
Re: one piece current manga discussion spoilers heavy
I'm surprised no one has talked about the latest chapter yet...well I'll get the ball rolling on that...
I figured Zoro calling Sanji "Mr. Nosebleed" was going to happen sooner or later. All of the new Straw Hat attacks (Zoro, Sanji, Robin, Brook) were awesome to say the least, definitely gave Hody's men what for (plus Luffy being friendly to Surume).
Spoiler: Highlight to view
The new Solder Dock vehicles were pretty cool, but how did Franky get a Solder Dock 5 in? I thought they were numbered 0 to 4? That has got to be a new improvement to the Sunny...Franky has got his work cut out for him (and probably Usopp as well, he no doubt assists Franky with weapons).
And how about "Commander Chopper"? (hehehe...Luffy's reaction was priceless).
Re: one piece current manga discussion spoilers heavy
Really liked the new chapter. This has been a great arc for showing off how much the crew has changed in grown stronger.

I thought it was pretty cool the chopper has a much better control on his points now. I think my favorite part though was the robot (just Chopper's reaction alone is priceless. But what I really liked was the Franky's robot arms came off (it was the only thing I didn't like about his redesign)
Re: one piece current manga discussion spoilers heavy
The last chapter was quite something to say the least. Also, Hody pissed off Luffy again with revealing why Surume joined his crew. Naturally, Franky's combining robot

(the two vehicles from last chapter acting as pieces)
amazed Luffy, Chopper, and Usopp (as well as getting weird stares from Nami and Robin), and the new weapons from Nami and Usopp (we seen a few of his though already) give them a pretty strong edge now, although they were pretty good before the time skip. Also pretty awesome how Chopper can use his other transformations at will now but there were a couple things concerning me:
Spoiler: Highlight to view
First off, his "horn point" doesn't seem as menacing as it was shown a couple of time before the time skip, although minus his "monster point", Chopper doesn't have a menacing disposition to begin with (he could be if he wants to, but he usually plays the "cute character"). Secondly, he used his rumble ball earlier to call up "guard point" on the way to Fishman Island, meaning that must be the form still requiring the rumble ball. Also, Chopper has to have more than six forms now, because if we add his newer form "kung-fu", there is still "horn", "arm", "heavy", "walk", "jump", and "brain" ("guard" apparently still requires the rumble ball, meaning some of his research hasn't been finished yet plus there is no indication how far he has progress into using "monster point" ) I wouldn't think Chopper has lost a transformation to gain one; it could be a mistranslation though, or Chopper could be hiding something?
The ending definitely brought about a new dimension to the fight; I wonder how "Noah" fits in to the story?
Re: one piece current manga discussion spoilers heavy
in the last chapter when Chopper said that he has better control over his points does that include the mindless moster form that he takes after he's had three rumble balls.
Re: one piece current manga discussion spoilers heavy
@Dachou: That seems to be the leading theory but we won't know for sure until the manga actually covers it. As for the latest chapter: oh yeah! Luffy is awesome

I think it's interesting how he's implemented haki as a simultaneous offense and defense but I hope the hardening thing isn't the only trick he's learned. I also enjoyed seeing Shirashioshi following the way of her mother and being willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of the island. But wow, was even Hody appalled on Van Der's plan?
Re: one piece current manga discussion spoilers heavy
Nice to know that Luffy can apply the "Color of Armaments" Haki to make his normal moves pack a huge punch (instead of always relying on partial Gear 2nd moves; those are nice too, but he used them a lot already in comparison to the former). I wonder what color would the hardened area be in the anime (considering that is not far from the future)? Guess Vander Decken's perverted craziness caught even Hody off-guard (serves him right although "Noah" is a danger to everyone else too), but now Luffy has to deal with both of them and protect Shirahoshi. Can't wait for the next chapter as usual.

I've read the latest chapter... It went by really quickly... Most action chapters do.
