Re: Kaizoku Musou/Pirate Warriors Video Game Officially Licensed for North America?
The digital side will make it fall in sales they are predicting. (What ever it is.) Sadly because of people's idiotic comments of ''No dub, no buy'' makes you sound so picky and ungrateful. This is probably the only One Piece PS3 game that's coming out and all some people say is ''No dub? Not gonna buy it!''
Personally, I don't want Bandai to milk this franchise like they have with others, but it may happen. I want it to do well, It would... If people didn't moan about the possible no dub.

I actually agree. I like the fact that this is a PS3 exclusive just because I am a PS3 owner. An xbox 360 port is what would be best for one piece in north america at the moment.

how does a statement by VIZ Media's Shonen Jump division make this news official? Yes One Piece is a shonen jump property but VIZ has nothing to do with the video game. If this "no dub" news came from Namco Bandai then I'd accept it without doubt. The tweet was from E3 but for all we know only the Japanese audio was included for the demos there because the game dub is currently being worked on. Just because there was no English dub audio at E3 doesn't mean it's 100% confirmed it won't be included.
Heck every time there's a new Naruto or DBZ game Namco Bandai only uses the Japanese audio in the trailers so I always ask myself "is this game actually sub-only?" though eventually fans get their copies and upload videos confirming the existence of an English track.
Re: Kaizoku Musou/Pirate Warriors Video Game Officially Licensed for North America?
That's true in regards to Naruto or Dragon Ball, but you have to keep in mind those were games given physical releases, and these are both series super-popular in America. If Pirate Warriors was being released in stores instead of just PSN, I'd be completely positive of a dub.
If there has ever been a time where VIZ Media (or ANY other official source as close as them to the franchises DB and Naruto) have ever claimed that a video game featuring the aforementioned series would only be in Japanese (and were proven wrong with an English track), then I would see your point.
Otherwise it just sounds little more than denial at this point. I never thought we'd definitively be looking at a subbed release just because the trailer was in Japanese, but I seriously doubt SJ would tell us it is if they weren't 100% sure. Sure it's not Namco saying it directly but when was the last time they've said ANYTHING to OP fans about this game in America? It took us forever just to learn the PR only referred to retail for Europe's release.
Trust me, I'd love to see this dubbed, but it's not going to happen.

I still don't see why people complain about the no dub. It's probably the only One Piece PS3 game were going to get and it won't be difficult to get a hold of unlike the rest. Plus it follows the story. Man, can never please people these days >_>

The problem is A video game doesn't always work well subtitled because you arte playing and might not be able to read the subtitles while playing. I am greatful for the game and want to see it released but I can still be disappointed we won't get a dub. I am also one of the few people I have seen so far who likes Funimations dub cast as much as the japanese. I want to see the unlimted cruise games get a lrease over here as well because they are new stories written by oda.
Giving the game a digital, sub-only (assuming) release is pretty much setting it up to fail.
Hopefully it manages to still sell well enough for Bandai to give future OP titles physical releases.

No English Dub? Damn it, I guess I won't be buying Pirate Warriors then, sigh.
