Re: Kaizoku Musou/Pirate Warrios Video Game Officially Licensed for North America?

For those interested I made a page with characters that have dialogue

http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/video-games/One-Piece-Pirate-Warriors/

Now to wait for a U.S. release and English dub credits smile

It's happening!

Can't wait for the English voices for the new characters. (Hope they don't disappoint)

I'm speechless.

Jackson_H I thought you were a crazy optimist for thinking there was a chance despite the trademark thing but wow

Can't wait to get it this November! This also means a voice for Brook doesn't it?

This gives us an additional thing to look forward to along with the upcoming season! I really can't believe we're being given the chance to get this in the US.

Looks like it's getting released on the PSN only, meaning there's a chance of there being no dub at all...

No dub unfortunately. Sony has a policy where they won't put a game on disc unless it has an English dub so the reason why it is a digital release (along with saving money) is so Namco doesn't have to have OkraTron dub it.

The company noted it is in talks to release the game digitally.

There may be a dub

I think the retail release thing only applies to the Euro version. On Namco's Facebook page they specifically say Pirate Warriors is "exclusively" for the PSN. I'd love to be wrong though, but I don't see it happening.

Yeah i know what you mean, They did the same for Warriors Orochi 3 release but seeing as one piece is already licensed and has an english dub so the dub issue shouldn't really be a problem. as for Namco Bandai, saving money would be the last thing on their minds since One piece Kaizoku musou sold approximately 745,907 copies in japan.

It sold great in Japan, but OP has never been really great here (for instance, we haven't seen a release in the US in four years) despite the Japan games selling well enough to justify making more and more games.

Namco would probably see it as a waste of money to get it dubbed. If this was retail release then it would most certainly be dubbed. But a digital release? Not a chance.

Well if there is no dub then that pretty much removes any reason to buy the game.
