I've seen this happen before, too. I wouldn't read too much into it. Either FUNimation missed it, or left it as that just because the blue logo is far more popular than the gold one. I lean towards the latter, personally.

That makes very little sense, considering the previous, and then following episodes continue to use the regular Shonen Jump English logo.

Given it's distinctiveness from the gold logo, it's also hard to miss the blue one. How many people do you think review these episodes before they're finalized? I really wouldn't put it past FUNimation to put this in as an easter egg sort of thing.

FUNimation seem to use whatever source material they get as you can see with their "Case Closed" sick release, where TMS go out of their way to make the foreign releases inferior. MagicBox (a mod on the prior forum) had threads picking out things like this, one such issue was in FUNimation's One Piece releases where if you were to get to the right frame of Zoro's Eyecatcher it would say Zolo iirc.

I haven't got a link as the old forum closed though. hmm

I've seen that. I would think that they would have been able to catch something like that and the logo.

It's safe to assume that everyone can make mistakes and people work with what they have. I think MagicBox's judgement on that error (the Zolo poster thing) was that it was from possibly from an international version. My guess is that it was based on FUNi using "Zolo" when they started on TV and using the same materials for DVD and TV.
