FUNimation at Otakon announced today that they have acquired the fifth season of One Piece.
Mod note: They have also acquired the 10th movie in the franchise, Strong World.

This made me really happy. But even though I'm going to get hate for this, I can't wait to see Robin's dub voice actor screw up a major part that comes up in Season 5.

Oh, I can't wait to hear Stephanie Young in her solid portrayal of one of my favorite characters during one of my favorite moments in the whole series. ^___^
I am so psyched for these sets. [Mainly in part that I greatly prefer the dub and its cast and thus cannot contain my excitement with finally getting to one of my favorite arcs in said format]

I think I saw this news this morning.
Awesome. Water 7/CP9 is, in my opinion, the best story arc One Piece has done yet, and now we don't have to have a huge time gap.

But on that subject, while I'm sure the English dub'll be good, I hope they re-cast Saul. His voice for his small part in Movie 8 wasn't very fitting.

According to Toon Zone they also have Season 6 and the new movie coming December 15, One Piece Film Z.
If this is true, then wow....Season 6 ends at the end of Impel Down and is a whopping 115 episodes.
EDIT: FUNi confirmed this isn't true.
I bet Lil Kis will be happy to hear this news.
If FUNimation can keep this pace they may get to be only 150 episodes behind. And that would be pretty good since Viz was/is only about 100 episodes behind with Bleach and Naruto
At first i was a little confused when they announced Strong World movie 10 simple because they haven't licensed any of the episodes with Brook and he is in the film

Have you never heard of Movie 8? Or Unlimited Adventure? Plus there's the word they have Season 6 so that may not even be an issue (not that it would be either way).
I'm just gonna put this out there, but I'm guessing a June 2013 release date for s5v1 and a February/March 2013 release date for Strong World given previous precedent. We'll probably get a theatrical release come December and a partnership with Viz to release Volume 0 as a freebie with the LE version of the movie. Also I'm thinking they have the license for Episode 0 as well.
