Ahh the ninties, a great decade for televised media...not so much for music, plagued by boy bands (Backstreet, Nsync) & pop idols (Brittney Spears) not many timeless classics came out of it, however there are afew good songs from the 90's that are still popular today, so my quesiton is a simple one, what are your favorite ones from the 90's. As for me, mine would be....
All Star- By SmashMouth: I've loved this song since I first heard it back in...98 I think it was, its a catchy tune with good lyrics that never gets old. I could listen to it again & again
Kryptonite- By 3 Doors Down: Who knew Superman references/allegories could actually work well in a song about life & relationships.
One Week- By Bare Naked Ladies: I love this song, it oozes 90's with all its references, X-files, Sailor Moon, etc. And as with the others its just really fun to listen to.
So those are my favorite songs from the 90's what are yours?

Well.... Growing up IN the 90's I did listen to mostly Backstreet Boys and other Pop stuff, but also was listening to country and classic rock (thanks to my dad) and christian music (thanks to my mom).
As for "As a WHOLE", thanks TO music games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, I've been listening to bands like Pearl Jam, RATM, etc.
I still listen to Pop stuff from the 90s since ALL music has merit of SOME kind (thanks to college).

Dag nab it Agetree, we can't acknowledge that everything is technically on equal ground and that quality in any form of media is only how we perceive what we consume, if we do debate and discussion becomes pointless! LOL.
But yeah, I listened to alot of those cheesy pop songs as a kid too. Also enjoyed Will Smith's stuff.

I think you need to reread what I said. I said ALL Music, Not ALL things. I say that because ALL music is arranged and instrumented differently making EVERY song not better nor worse then others, just different in it own unique way that's NOT better or worse. Ok, Maybe over-rated, but that's the MOST negative feedback I can give if any. I'll put it at that.

@Agetyree: Ahh.... I wasn't being serious dood... I was being silly. well what I said was true, but I wasn't being serious about it, if that makes sense, lol.

Well... Everything that is said on the forum regardless of what it's about and who's saying what, I right away asume the post(s) as serious statements.

Really? This is but a small serving of great 90's music you should check out - some rock, some metal ( and these groups have a huge amount of great music) - classics among the fans, the great thing about the 90's was that it was a time of real individuality, when MTV not only played music videos, but music videos of many different styles and genres to satisfy a wide range of fans, not one particular group - those days are long gone.
Plush - Stone Temple Pilots
Tommy the Cat - Primus
Got the life - Korn
Wait and Bleed - Slipknot
Bombtrack - Rage Against the Machine
Drive - Deftones
Breaking the Girl - Red Hot Chili Peppers
5 Minutes Alone - Pantera
Go - Pearl Jam
Midlfe Crisis - Faith No More
Stubb a dub - Mr. Bungle
Smells like Teen Spirit - Nirvana - I hate Nirvana, but I can't deny that this song is a true classic, but I'll take it over a lot of other crap.
