The Official 2013 Collectors collective forum!

*Shelf Is Not Mine, just thought it would make a cool header* tongue

Last year I started a general thread about the topic of collecting, so I thought i'd make it an annual thing. Basically for 2013, just come here to talk about the state of your various collections be it anime, comics, cartoons, magna, video games, etc. As well as your future plans for them. Also feel free to show off pictures of your collections if you want. Welp let the fun begin.

I guess I'll go first...

-Anime: Honestly as of now my Anime collection is nearly non exsistant, i'm at a bare minimum due to the fact i'm I guess you would call it "Restructuring" my DVD & Blu-Ray collections in general, also taking a more fickle & *maybe more elitist I dunno* Approach to things, as of now i'm not making any blind buy purchases and don't plan to do so, I do plan to buy some new anime DVDs & Blu-Rays this year, also plan to upgrade some older titles from DVD to Blu-Ray, but sufficed to say like with the past 3-4 years there has been much more shrinkage in my collection then growth, but I do plan to get it buffed up a bit through out the year if I can.

- Cartoons: Actually Bigger then my Anime Collection ATM *Don't hate me* My main goal with Domestic toons ATM is try to keep up with the DVD releases of newer titles, as well as feel the gaps & finish up my Warner Bros. Animation DVD collection. Gonna try to start getting the Ralph Bakshi films too if I can *Although I hear his version of The Hobbit & Fritz The Cat can pretty hard to track down these days*

-Comics & Manga: Domestic Comic Growth continues to grow at a far to rabbid pace, Manga is more moderate, i've cleaned off my shelves a couple times for series i've lost interest in but collection is still at a good "medium" Planning a vast expansion of Tezuka & Vertical Titles soon. Also gonna try to catch up on my Urwasawa. As well as hunt down those Big-O & Tenchi Volumes i'm missing. And looking forward to the upcoming 10-Cent Manga imprint that will be focusing on classic manga titles! Oh and finally theres the Madoka Magica Spin-offs, those come out this year too, looking forward to that.

-Pony Swag Honestly trying to slow down on this one, gonna try to focus more on things that apply to the other catagories like DVDs & Comic book. But will still get some misc Hot Topic Swag & Tee's ever now & then most likely.

-Video Games Again basically almost completely gone from my life, I still have my PS3 and theres a small number of titles I plan to get, and depending on how things go I might try to get a 3DS-XL & PS Vita down the line *Wii-U is probably gonna have to wait till the end of the year or early 2014* But yeah, not much of a gamer anymore, and other then the HD Version of Kingdom Hearts & the Disgaea 10th Anniversary Game, not really anything I can say i'll flat out make a day one purchase. *Although i'm sure a new Sonic game will pop up some time this year I Want* Oh and there is Project X-Zone, that looks interesting... but it won't be out stateside for awhile.

And there you have it, my initial 2013 collectors report! How about you guys, how do your collections fare?

Re: The Official 2013 Collectors collective forum!

I would say my collection is made up of 50% Strike Witches merch, 30% other anime sitting on my shelf, 19% video games, and 1% manga. Actually I haven't bought any merchandise in a while, which is why my anime collection has been able to grow a little. I still play video games on a regular basis, but the last game I bought was Halo 4 in November.

I want to add pictures soon, but I have a few more figures on the way before I do any of that.

I'm also planning on picking up the Bakemono/Nisemono, Garden of Sinners and Fate/Zero(...eventually) sets from Aniplex, the Penguindrum BDs from Sentai(God I hate to give Steven Foster my money) and I'm still hunting for Nanoha, End of Eva and the first vol of Kino's Journey.

All I have to say is I am glad I live in a old farm house (Finished 1702). I have last I check and that was when I moved back to my home state a few years ago. I had 8 big boxes of dvds & 15 boxes of books. I had to build more Shelves for more room. I have a room (15 x 20) for dvds and books. Of my dvd collection about 45% are amine. books collection about 50 - 60%. I have no idea how it stands atm. Both of my collections have grown massively. I have some computer games, but no video games.

Yeah, here's my collection:

No, I'm just being a troll, I have finally gotten around to taking some pictures of my collection. I didn't get everything for some reasons, the site I host the pics was starting to run like crap, so no GIJOE figure and Inuyasha card pics. However, there are plenty of pics, so enjoy.

What I have done is posted the pics using my blog space, I have provided the links here:

@Neon: Now thats an impressive collection.

Alas my collection Is pitiful in comparison *But again as I mentioned in my intial post i'm basically trying to transition a lot of titles from DVD to Blu-Ray, and just becoming picker about what I buy in general. .... Not to mention the way my room is structured I have a very difficult time trying to organize things in a way that satisfies me, But ahh i'm rambling, So I digress... I really need find my Digital Camera so at the very least I can share my comic & manga collection *my only sizable collection ATM XD*

But yeah color me jealous... also, those posters, me gusta, Neon you Naughty naughty boy! XD. dumb kiss

Re: The Official 2013 Collectors collective forum!

So glad I found this thread as I was thinking about starting one to see if there where any other collectors here.

Impressive Neonwalrus. I used to have box sets like those (individual DVD's) but in the end I sold them as the space taken was just too much (Should have seen my Guyver collection on VHS!). So now I limit myself to the smaller box sets.

Anyway here is my current Anime collection (notice how I've now run out of space here too dumb ) and a couple of shots of my figures. I have better pictures of my figures in my profile if you want a better look at them.

@Megabiv - Very nice man, a brand new Chouun Shiryuu figure. I also see you have a Samuari Girls Kanetsugu Naoe figure too, along with some Strike Witches and Evangelion figures; very nice indeed.

Re: The Official 2013 Collectors collective forum!

7jaws7 I like the Strike Witches figures and quite jealous, I actually have two of those on order (re-runs of Elia & Gertrud) and one I'm hopefully going to get my hands on shortly (Charlotte). Not sure if you know already or not but Alter are releasing Erica & Hanna soon so it means in the next couple of months I may have 5 move Witches to squeeze into my collection. I'm sad though as Yoshika & Sanya are no longer in stock/print so it looks unlikely I'll be able to get them all crying
