Re: The NFL 2012 Season Discussion Thread

Hahaha, I got a good belly laugh outa the one jaws tongue I must say, it was nice seeing the Pats steamroll someone again, it's been far to long. We've got a bye next so hopefully when we come back something will of been done about our secondary. They may of played alright this game, but I still don't have enough faith in them to play like this all the time.

Hmm. I don't know, I feel bad for you Jets fans, but...I don't know. The Browns won 7-6 on Sunday, scoring on their first drive, and only having two drives of over 20 yards afterwards. It was painful to watch, and it really didn't feel like a victory at all. Gotta wonder what's up with the Chargers these days.

Denver Broncos wooped ass Sunday, so I'm happy as can be! Oh, Green Bay and Miami won, so thats a plus.... isn't it kinda funny though how Saints is my 4th favorite team behind Miami? smile

The Falcons right now are the only team convincing enough of a Super Bowl run as well as the Bears and even the Giants. Everyone else, not so much.

Meh, overall the league is pretty weak, seems pretty weak anyway, and we don't know how the second half of the year will turn out. I could definitely see a team like the Ravens or Patriots making a run late and being a force in the playoffs - they always seem to be there at the end. Still feel like Houston is the best team in the league though.

Don't be fooled by their record. Atlanta is the most overrated team in the league, easily. They barely escaped a home game vs. Carolina and managed to catch Peyton on his first road game of the year (3 picks in his first 3 drives, that's not a coincidence). Matt Ryan is good now, but he still hasn't won a playoff game.

Giants are the only complete team in the NFL. There are a few teams that can challenge them, but they have a lot of exploitable flaws.

Well...after Week 9, I may want to retract my above post. nervous

Giants couldn't close out the Steelers, despite having a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter. Go figure, Eli can't win the only game I'm rooting him on yell

Meanwhile, Atlanta passes a big home test against Dallas. This could be Atlanta's year, but you have to wonder if they'll end up like Green Bay last season: all of their momentum used up in the regular season, and when it matters most, they sputter in the playoffs.

Hahaha, I didn't catch either game yesterday, but that's just the kind of season it's been so far. Everyone says San Francisco is the best team, then the Giants blow them out. Everyone says Houston is the best team, then Green Bay kills them. Now the Giants are picking up steam, and they lose to the Steelers. In all cases, a good-very good team with momentum and a solid record was downed by a good-very good team that wasn't meeting expectations. Atlanta might be the best team. They might not, they still haven't played anybody. I'll be looking forward to them playing the Giants in December.

But who knows! I guess that's what I'm getting at - there are some good teams this year, but it gets muddled, everyone is beating everyone. I'll throw my lot in with the Bears - best defense, great running game, solid coaching; they've lost once, in Green Bay, when Jay Cutler had one of those Jay Cutler kinda days. I don't trust him, but they look like a really solid team. Their next six games are against teams with winning records (including Green Bay, Houston, and @San Francisco), so we'll see pretty soon smile

Oh and if it wasn't well know...The Browns lost 22-15. Phil Dawson has hit his last 23 field goals, we were 0-3 in the red zone, Brandon Weeden looked like a rookie. Got a bye next week, and then comes the home stretch. Be interested to see if anything crazy happens as the coaches fight for their jobs.

Re: The NFL 2012 Season Discussion Thread

I'm already making my playoff picture:

My playoff picture I see Texans and Ravens for the AFC divisional. The Broncos, Patriots, Dolphins/Steelers and Colts in Wild Card.
For NFC I see Falcons and 49rs for Divisional, and the Seahawks, Bears, Giants and Packers for Wild Card. (I have a feeling Bears are gonna choke and 49rs are gonna rise above)

For Conference I see for AFC maybe Texans vs. Broncos or Patriots.
For NFC I see 49rs and Seahawks/Bears/Giants/Packers (Falcons are gonna choke like always)

For Superbowl I see Broncos or Texans vs. (if their defense keeps up) Seahawks/Packers/Giants
