Re: The NFL 2012 Season Discussion Thread

So...loving...close...

This defense might have allowed the fewest points in the NFL, but when it matters most, they clench up and play too conservatively. It happened in Detroit, Chicago, and now Atlanta. The funny thing is, a field goal in the first half and we're playing in San Francisco for the NFC Championship.

Also, Matt Bryant knew he had a free kick, so I don't want to hear any of that.

So Chip Kelly goes to the Eagles after all. It'll be interesting to see how that works out.

And on an NFL Draft note: Manti Te'o. Holy smokes.

Lets go 49ers! I've been waiting for this moment for forever. I say niners and ravens in the superbowl, but I think my pick em failures kinda show that my picks tend to be wrong.

^Well, you were right huh?

This ought to be one helluva Super Bowl:

-Two smash-mouth defenses accompanied by finesse offenses.
-Ray Lewis' last game.
-Harbaugh brothers on opposite sidelines.

I say Ravens win a nail-biter, 24-23.

Also, I thought I'd mention this comparison since we're on an anime forum: the Ravens are very much like the saiyan race from Dragon Ball Z. You can beat them down to the point where they're almost dead, but if you let them live, they come back even stronger than they were before. The Chargers had 'em at 4th & 29. The Broncos had 'em 70 yards deep w/less than a minute. And the Patriots were driving with a 6-point lead and a chance to bury them in the third quarter.

So many times Baltimore was beaten, but a Ray Rice scamper, a Joe Flacco fling, and a Wes Welker dropped pass on 3rd down to resuscitate them. Look out 49ers; you may be the early favorites, but the Ravens have all the momentum in the world on their side.

Re: The NFL 2012 Season Discussion Thread

^Nice.

@Jaws, so what does that say about how Seattle and Denver lost, then? Pointless question I know...I'm still bitter about that lol.

It's been a really offensive postseason, but I'd be quite surprised if both teams scored in the 20's. Just doesn't seem to happen that often, you know? I'm rooting for the Ravens, but I'm thinking 28-17, 49ers. Don't really think Joe Flacco will show up as much as he has, but then again, I doubted him from the beginning of the playoffs, so...

Well at this point it is kinda pointless to ask. But clearly, they both have serious issues protecting a lead with such little time remaining. I can't think of any comparisons there, though tongue

Congratulations to the Super Bowl XLVII Champions, the Baltimore Ravens.

The 49ers appropriately dug themselves a hole too big to climb out of, and their perfect Super Bowl record can be summed up in one word: Nevermore.

(Oh yeah, DrewFace520 made one helluva prediction.0

I met some girls in the airport going to put money on the 49ers. I told them their best bet would be on the ravens because they are the underdog of the game. If they took my advice they are walking with a lot more money then they had before leaving to vegas
