The season, it's too early to tell at this point but I can point out some things to look out for.

The Saints aren't gonna be as bad as they might seem without Sean Payton's coaching.
I don't believe the Peyton Manning hype, so to all you Bronco fans out there, don't put your cart before the horse.
Tom Brady is like Kobe Bryant, he gets better with age...UGH I felt sick saying that... angry
All it takes is a few screwups for Mark Sanchez to be completely benched for the season and for Tim Tebow to make some noise.
The Detroit Lions could be this years 49ers of last season, they have a LOT of potential. (I could throw in that "Madden Curse since Calvin "Megatron" Johnson is on the cover but Drew Brees proved that the curse was just a joke)

I haven't bought into the Peyton hype just yet but..... If he has a solid o-line that gives him time, he'll be the best broncos qb since Elway IMO. And I agree as much as a hate to say it Detroit does have a great deal of up side this season.

Haha that's awesome! I haven't found too many NFL fans around here but it's nice to see someone on the same team. Rift is a Pats fan, but he's cool wink

I honestly have no idea how this season is going to play out. The defense is going to be one of the best in the league, but the offense...well, you get the idea. They haven't shown us everything obviously, but I'm not too confident in the Wildcat. All Sanchez has to do is make smart decisions, and this team is easily playoff-bound.

@7jaws7: Definitely, Anime and Sports are interests that don't easily mesh but there are few like us that enjoy both the same, after all, I used to be a full-on sports junkie before my interest in anime came back. As far as Gang Green goes, from what I've seen in the preseason, the Jets offensive efforts leave a lot to be desired, that and I'm hoping that the Jets don't become like the Dolphins and constantly use the Wildcat like a one trick pony. That formation might work on the Bills but they need a lot more than that to even compete with the Steelers let alone beat them.

@USC514: I can easily tell that the Broncos can clearly win more than 10 games let alone 8 this season but I don't want the fans getting obnoxious about it and think that Peyton is gonna have this team go 16-0 that's just madness, especially considering that Peyton Manning could be past his prime. There's so much to anticipate in the season, so many twists, turns and surprises which makes the season fun for most and sometimes frustrating for some.

Oh boy, 30 mins to Pats kickoff! I needed this so much with how horrible the Red Sox are this season. I'm hoping they tweaked with our o-line enough that I don't have to worry about someone taking Brady's head off this game. Now I know he did great last year, but I'm thinking it's Hernandez's year to shine so I'm expecting a lot out of him in the weeks to come and Gronk will just be Gronk ya know? "Gronk want ball", "Gronk get TD", "Gronk spike ball", we all know that's the only stuff going through his head and I love it. The one person I'm hoping has another phenomenal season though is Welker, he needs to prove that franchising him was a dick move, friggin ridiculous... Plus he's on my fantasy team so 40pt games would be nice too wink

Re: The NFL 2012 Season Discussion Thread

Well they ended pretty flat, but a Jets win is a Jets win. Right now my #1 concern is Revis' health, after getting bonked in the head by his own guy. The defense had trouble with Spiller, but Pouha was out so I can't judge them seriously quite yet, although the lack of sacks does bother me a little.

Next week I'm going down to Pittsburgh for my first ever Jets game. Can't wait for it!

A Jets win with that many points, wow. I guess they were just keeping their offense under wraps in preseason...I do hope Sanchez does well this year. I don't think he's great, but he's at least alright, would be nice to prove the doubters wrong. And nice on getting to go to your first Jets game! I've been to two football games in my life - Seattle vs. Cleveland last year (a riveting 9-6 game I think it was) and a few years ago at Pittsburgh. Both were of course great experiences but the Pittsburgh fans were really fantastic. They made an otherwise ugly game fun to watch.

And with that, what can I say, I was raised a Browns fan. We're an abysmal team starting a rookie QB that's older than Thundercats. But we did absolutely destroy the Eagles offense in spite of having started 4 defensive players that were on the bubble at the start of training camp. Not too shabby. And Peyton with Denver? It's hard to believe he's only been there a few months, that's about as in-sync as any team was offensively in week 1, they could be very good.

The Jets were pretty impressive against the Bills. I was wrong about Sanchez, at least for the time being, let's see if he can hold his own along with Tebow against the Steelers. Denver did a pretty good job running the Steelers ragged so if the Jets can keep a good offensive flow going, we could beat the Steelers as well.

Part of me is an Ohio fan (I have family there and spent a couple of summers in the Dayton/Cincinnati area) so I have some love for the Browns and Bengals, even though the Bengals got their @$$es handed to them by Baltimore (I still have high hopes for the Reds though! wink ) So I can only hope for the best for both teams even if it means just one Ohio team making it to the postseason if anything.
