Anyone else go to see this movie yet? I got to go see it the other day, and I really enjoyed it. It was pretty much just like I had heard - better than the later Muppet films but not quite as good as the classic, classic stuff. Still though, it was a great film that I hope launches the Muppets back into the mainstream a little. I'd love to see the show make a comeback from it.
Frank Oz wasn't the puppeteer or voice for Miss Piggy this time though, and it's noticeable but the new guy does pretty good overall.
I found 'The Moopets' to be a great way of poking fun at things that completely change themselves to appeal to a new audience rather than actually making a comeback, it was brilliance on Segal's part. There was lots of similar 'breaking the fourth wall' moments too, and tons of awesome cameos as per the Muppet norm too.
Anyway, brilliant film that I'm hoping does well for them. I was a bit sad that me and my girlfriend were the ONLY two in the theater for it.

Since I got free tickets from Disney (Movies Rewards), I will be seeing it when the theater in town gets it.
I saw it, definitely a great movie. I keep listening to the CD every day!
I really appreciated this movie. It did what it set out to do, reintroduce a younger audience to The Muppets. I LOVED~~ the cameos (*cough*NPHJImParsonsJackBlack) and the occasional breaking the fourth wall is always fun.
The music was pretty great, but then again any movie that starts with the song "Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard" is going to automatically be an amazing cinematic master piece (yes I am bias). Another mentionable song would definitely be the opening song and the adorable dance sequences (very reminiscent to another great Amy Adams movie, Enchanted).

I saw the new Muppets movie on Black Friday, lol. It was a pretty good film. the humor wasn't all that great for the most part imo, but the overall story, plays on nostalgia, and oodles of fun cameos more then made up for it. I sincerly enjoyed this film, and hope it will eventually lead to Disney putting the muppets show back on the air. I mean Disney needs to have at least 1 good show on the networks they own, lol.
But yeah I was a big muppets & fraggle rock fan as a lttle kid, then I kind of got out of it, this movie though made me remember why I loved em...deff gonna hunt down the season sets for Muppets when I can. Oh also had "We Built This City" stuck in my head for almost a week now.

All Will Know The Wonder Of My Dark & Jewled Sky, When All The World Is Wrapped In An Eternal Lullabye.
I've had 'Mahna Mahna' in my head actually, along with 'Man or Muppet' LOL!
Definitely happy to see so many people enjoying this. I wish we had a poll option because I'd considered asking this a while back but, which Muppet is everyone's favorite too? I'm big on Gonzo, Statler & Waldorf, and the Swedish Chef myself. I enjoyed Walter quite a bit too for being the new guy, but his 'gimmick' in the end was a bit disappointing.

Pretty good indeed, although I kind of wished one or two musical numbers had been a little bit shorter.
Apparently whistling is somehow better than "Rainbow Connection." Was it because it shattered glass?
I think that was what bothered me. His whistling was cool and all but it shouldn't have been the final act. It should have come right before it maybe, since they knew they wanted to save Rainbow Connection for last.
And I can sort of agree on the musical numbers being a bit too long in some places.

Just got back from seeing this, and I loved it. I don't think it's as good as the original Muppet Movie and Christmas Carol, but it's at least as good as Caper and Manhattan.
Practically all the comedy was gold, with self-depreciation, fourth wall awareness ("May I suggest using a montage?" "Let's travel by map!"), and general silliness. You can tell the people involved with this film really loved the Muppets--there's even some that rarely see exposure anymore (Thog, Wayne and Wanda, Uncle Deadly, etc.) My favorite scenes were Kermit's "Pictures in my Head" number (which is easily my favorite of the original songs), the montage of the Muppets fixing the theater, and the ending. Among the human actors, Chris Cooper was definitely the standout as the bad guy. The other new characters were a little bland, but I can't help but wonder if that was intentional, given that Segal and Adams' characters were named "Gary" and "Mary".
Also wished we'd gotten a little more screentime with Gonzo (though his first scene was fantastic), but I guess he's had quite a lot of time in the spotlight with recent works, so I don't mind that too much.
Anyway, loved it, and it's a definite buy when it comes out on DVD.
