Re: The 31 Days of Halloween Thread!

Interesting....

I think I'll either watch some scary movies during halloween or go out and see If I can't find some halloween festival or something to go to. I'm thinking I might take some stuff that I already have, throw it together for a costume, and make up an anime character to go with my costume.

Or I could just walk around and scare people... wink

I'll probably go trick or treating again this year tongue (Hey, free candy is free candy).

A classic Halloween flick. it is the closest adaption to the original story by Bradbury & I was amazed at not just who made the flick, but how good it was. (All parts there 10/26/12)

never really got into Holloween when I was a kid but I do love discounted candy at the stores afterwards. Love Hershey's the most because I used to live in PA.

Re: The 31 Days of Halloween Thread!

Personally, I love Halloween. It can be scary or corny, it just depends on what you want to make of it.

I finally came up with some ideas for a costume. I think I'll go for one of three characters: Izaya Orihara, Byakuya Kuchiki, or Zangetsu. Who knows, I might throw elements from all three together and make up a name. It will look really cool when I finally put it all together. cool

Anyways, I saw the Canterville Ghost last night, the version with Patrick Stewart. I think I might watch that on Halloween because that is a really great movie.

I think I'll also go bake or buy a cake to eat on Halloween.

Re: The 31 Days of Halloween Thread!

Looking for weird story's like this one:

When thoroughly reliable people encounter unknown events, their stories are difficult to explain away. Such is the case of the Barbados Vault & what happened there in the early 19th century.
In 1807, the first coffin was placed in the vault. During the next 5 years, the vault was opened twice more & coffins were added. It wasn't until it was opened again late in 1812 that anything strange was noticed.
When the burial party opened the vault & entered to place the coffin inside, they were horrified to see that several of the huge lead-lined coffins had been tossed about & upset. Yet no one had visited the vault at any time except to place another coffin within. If vandals had entered, what was their motive? There was nothing of value in the dark crypt. When the bodies were checked, all of them still had their few jewelry & rings.
The coffins were straightened & a huge stone slab was placed against the entrance to block any further attempts at vandalism. The great slab was so heavy it took 6 strong men to hoist it into place against the door.
In spite of the precaution, twice more when the vault was opened the caskets were tossed about. Each time they were put back into place & the stone slab was replaced. Soon the populace started talking in hushed whispers of the haunted vault & voodoo practices.
At last the matter came to the attention of Lord Combermere, then Governor of Barbados. On July 17, 1819, when another coffin was to be placed in the vault, the Governor & other witnesses were present. The Governor had the walls sounded for secret entrances, but none were found. He then directed that fine sand be spread over the entire floor to reveal any footprints of an intruder. Once this was done, the door was sealed with the Governors seal & a guard was posted by it to prevent anyone from entering from the outside.
Less then a year later, on April 18, 1820, the vault was again opened in the presence of the Governor & witnesses. Once more, the coffins were in complete disorder, having been tossed about. The seal had not been broken & no footprints were found in the sand.
From that time on, the vault was left unused, for although no one could explain the strange happenings, everyone agreed that the vault was no place for the departed to spend their eternal rest.

Re: The 31 Days of Halloween Thread!

I'm going to a last minute Halloween party this wekend, but I don't wanna spend a ridiculous amount of money on a costume... maybe I'll just be a slutty nerd and go on with the drinking. Ideas? Someone suggested slutty mario or slutty luigi, but then I started thinking.... why were all the suggestions given to me 'slutty'? Hahaha!

Anyway, I've never watched a scary movie on Halloween, but I am going with a friend to an event called: "Halloween Horror Nights". smile They have a Silent Hill area and the Walking Dead terror tram! So, I can't wait to see what else they have. Yay!

You could put a knife through a box of rice krispies & go as a cereal killer?
