Re: Question of the Day!

I am not an otaku, but if 1 is just watching what's on TV than I am somewhere above that. 2 or 3? I enjoy watching anime, but I'm not obsessive, and I don't even put anime on a higher pedestal - I just enjoy it (even if it's sometimes for different reasons than other animation).

So...yeah. Don't put me anywhere near the "otaku" category.

Re: Question of the Day!

Well for tuesdays question I would have to say I am probably a 4 or 5. I say that because the only anime stuff I buy are DVD's. I never got into manga or graphic novels. I have never bought an anime figure or wall scroll but I do watch tons of anime. I watch it streamed, on TV, and DVD's. Right now I am in the progress of making an awesome website for all anime fans. I will let everyone know when it's done so I can have you guys review the site and let me know if there needs to be any changes. But that's what I rate my otakuism a 4 or 5.

Re: Question of the Day!

Im a hopeless lost cause 9. My fandom comes out in nearly every form of my daily life. When I was employed my office was decorated with anime stuff, my living room is nearly a shrine to When they Cry and Vocaloid. I dont own a single non-anime DVD, and I have never bought music in my life that wasn't Anime or Vocaloid. Tonight Im playing Dungeons and Dragons and my character is based loosely off of Miku Hatsune. I am also the president of an anime club, a moderator on this site. If it wasnt for my fish keeping I would be a ten.

Re: Question of the Day!

Hmm, I guess I'd be an 8 or 9, I buy anime on blu ray and dvd and stream from all the legal sources available, I've got around 30 plus figures that I wouldn't trade or get rid of for the world and of those figures I have the 5 different figma Saber's that have been released so far and will continue to buy any new ones as they are released :D , I've got all the movie posters for Garden of Sinners at whatever the biggest size available was, uuumm... oh! my prized possession is a cel of Ruri from Nadesico that I have framed up on my wall. I've also got some little things like pencil boards or promotional cards and whatnot from series that I couldn't get or find a figure for like The Slayers (damn you Volks, if I had only known you were releasing a figure of Lina!).

I haven't been to a con yet, but I plan on trying to get to one at some point and I think I may even attempt to cosplay as someone seeing as I enjoy doing up my own costumes for Halloween and whatnot.

Out of a rating of 1-10 how big of an anime fan are you. 1 being you watch some shows on adult swim and 10 being you buy everything from DVD's, posters, anime figures, manga, costumes, clothing accessories, etc? Explain why you chose that number?

I'd probably say I'm a high 7. I own a fair amount of merch(keychains, shirts, models, posters, etc) and have a decent DvD collection. I go to local cons, and listen to jpop/jrock in my car.

Re: Question of the Day!

Alright a question I can really get into. My favorite vocaloid is definetly Luka Megurine. Her English voice bank certianly comes in handy and I certainly enjoy the maturity she brings to her songs was well as easily being the best voicaloids for duets and such.

Now that being said I pretty much love all the vocaloids. Earlier this week I can proudly say I hit a gig of vocaloid music including songs done by even some of the fringe characters such as Neru (high and low voice varients), Haku Yowane and Teto.

Favorite songs

Luka Megurine - Just be frineds
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoPzP-MwcLI

Miku Hatsune - The World is Mine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrN4vMRDZGM
(I think every girl needs to demand these things from her lover)

Teto - Mischievious Function
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwDrP_851BM

Miku, Teto, Neru - Triple Baka
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMenThq2HAI

Miku and Luka - World's End Dance Hall
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y6J7kqc9_4&feature=related

Rin and Len Kagamine - Butterfly on my Right Shoulder
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Qq2rk6x8h8

Gumi - Sorry for being a closet Otaku
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn0HFhrhKO0

Miku and Luka - Ladies first
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8nF8X2kO5k&feature=related

Miku Hatsune - Strobe Last
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ri-M9O6h1pg
(Also by FAR my favorite Vocaloid video)

Well there are sooo many more I could list right now but Ive got a mini concert going on here. If you want to know more about vocaloids or swap songs and such, Feel free to PM Me,

If you could be the voice actor or actress in any anime which would it be? Why did you choose the anime you chose?

Probably something like Trigun, because it doesn't really have any difficult words in Japanese that I'd have to pronunciate.

Re: Question of the Day!

Ok this sounds fun on to #6
I actually made a short story for school that I'd make into an anime:
The year is 2073, technology has led to many innovations building now look like mercury, continously changing shape or they look like rubic's cubes. Above most cities lies a weblike network of skytrain tracks. People aew now continuously hooked up to the net with implanted microchips that hold all that person's Id, even memories. Robotics have also greatly advanced with robots now looking indistinguishable from humans.
In this futuristic world a girl awakens in a Japanese apartment. She has no idea who she is or how she got in the apartment. All she has is a corrupted microchip and a few cothes. Now the girl must survive in this strange new world and find out who she was.
I can't post everything here but maybe one day I'll post it in fan fics. Let's just say I took some inspiration from ghost in the shell and akira

Question 1: (Monday)
Let's have another awesome week a head of us with today's question of the day, what is your favorite anime, why is it your favorite anime?

Oh gawd I can only pick one? I guess it would have to be Black Lagoon. Why is it my favorite? They shoot down a helicopter, with a torpedo, from a PT Boat, in mid-air. And that's only the second episode!

It's a show about villains. The heavy-metal soundtrack kicks almost as much ass as the characters of the Lagoon Company as they blast, crash and smash their way through the seedy underbelly of Roanapur in a brutal shooting-spree. The large, diverse, well-developed cast of characters and detailed animation brings depth and realism to the mafia-run streets of the city. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
