OK, season 3 finale..well, that finally happened, my thoughts

But yeah the thing that bugs me is Celestia basically admits while her & Twy are in the Cosmic Council that she has been guiding *or IMO Manipulating Twilight* into this "Destiny" from birth.
I get the overall moral of the episode is about the magic of friendship, but what I got was, Celestia basically likes to play God. Also the joking part of me says she just did this to Twy so she can take a vacation! XD
But yeah really looking forward to seeing how Season 4 plays out now. They have a lot on their plates, and since we now know the S4 premiere will be almost direct continuation of the events of this episode, I hope it plays out well, Again Twilicorn doesn't bother me as much as the implications it has on her character, I trust the writers, and if this leads to more world/cosmos/mythos building i'm eager to see it, but the pessimistic side of me says it may also make Twy even more of a Mary-Sue. But yeah just have to wait & see. And now we begin the LONGEST pony drought ever, thankfully we have the comics to tide us over this time around!
Also sad Discord wasn't at the corrination, but i'm guessing he probably split-town to see the world after his ep, ala Alladen Genie style! XD.
last night I posted on my game , i liked mlp and one guy wisper me and said im at my friends he's a brony too, then since it been forever since i was in world warcraft asked me when we met i said oh prob when i was healing pvp i always make friends with people who seem cool, he asked how old I was and I was like 32 even if I don't feel that old lol, I asked him and his reply was wait my friends 15 but your 32 and you like ponies ... then he said I was weird and removed me , but as shocked as I was someone can be that shallow of a human being , I know its for best because I don't need shallow friends.
@BMC: Well that kid was just rude. But yeah sadly stuff like that happens with anything "nerdy" you can like especially if your considered to old, young, wrong gender, etc.
Anywho BOT heres a fun little link I found, basically its a little game that tales you who your favorite & least favorite ponies are depending on how you answer * Luna was my #1 with Applebloom at #2 Scootaloo at #3 and Babs Seed at #11 yeah i thought she'd be higher too, but meh.... and Celestia was in last place as expected, don't hate me I just don't care for Celestia much XD.
But yeah theres like 44-45 different characters on the list so play the game and see who places where for you! You might be suprised, or maybe not.

Alright, my thoughts on the last Pony episode, so Twilight is now a super horse or whatever, this should lead to some good storytelling potential especially since they dropped hints at the end of the episode, no longer the student, but still learning.
As for the episode, when I started watching it, my reaction was just what the hell am I watching?
I get the point of what was happening and such, but this episode was somewhat, weak, to be a season ender and maybe that has to do with them spoiling me on the season 2 finale, which was a great 2 parter - and the song sang by Cadence and the villain (can't remember her name) out did every single song on this season 3 finale.
To be honest, it felt as though they made it a musical so they could efficently condense 40 - 60 minutes worth of story into 20 minutes, the end result was that I felt as though I was watching a build up trailer for season 4.
And no Discord, I was expecting him to show up at some point, considering they had changed him over to being a friend, then there's Celestia, the master, the puppeteer, the ruler of the land. I don't know about her, but this episode gave me a feeling of arrogance and condescension on her part, but then again humility seems to be in short supply these days, why start teaching people that now.
Well, at least I still have my likeness horse - the ruler of Saturn, monitoring all sandworm activity and playing golf with Thanoes from Titan - Celestia's got nothing on me.
I had to quit playing with Devo so I lost the goofy hat, but the outfit still does it for me.
@bmccune - don't worry about it, it is interesting that we live in a day and age of infinite information - with the resourses we possess, a person can literally look into points of view on almost any matter with the touch of a few buttons, so you'd think characteristics like empathy ( I already talked about humility and the like) would be a little more prevalent in this so called age of enlightenment, but it seems as though ignorance, dissonance, arrogance, pretentiousness, and other undesirable characteristics are stronger than ever.
Basically what I'm saying is that most people you will encounter are morons and vermin - so don't take their garbage personally and don't think on it, I have generally come to expect that much from people these days. And just so everyone knows, that is directed towards people here, not against anyone on this forum, I have better ties with people on this forum than I do with many people in my own city on my facebook page I have known for a long time.
@NEON: Lol yeah I can agree, while I found it much stronger then the season 1 finale, it was fairly weaker then season 2's. And again while it probably won't happen I would love it if the show would have the Ballz to pull a 180 and have Celestia be the true villain all along. Partially so come season 4 I can shout at my TV.. WHAT A TWIST! XD*
EDIT: Also another thing I think worth Ranting about, for all her pomp & circumstance, Tia really is the most USELESS Alicorn! I mean look at the others, first there's Cadence who yes while she is the genaric Disney Princess type, her element *Love* and her ability to spread love, while cheesy is admirable. Also she at least tries and at times succeeds in being helpful, she fought to save her Husband from Chrysalis in the season 2 finale, and she nearly killed herself trying to keep her shield-up to protect the Crystal Empire, so yeah while generic in personality at least she's useful, Luna who is by far the BEST Alicorn IMO has also helped, she is one of the main reasons Scootaloo was able to conquer her fears, she basically helped Scoots & RD become "sisters" Not to mention Luna in nature is far more humble then her sister, she like Cadence never seems to feel like she is superior to others, she puts on a good show *like when she was a villian in the series op and her little hissy fit in Luna Eclipsed* But at the end of the day she just wants friends, Luna truly cherishes friendship because it was something she was denied for so long. She doesn't look down on the ponies she just wants to be part of their world *kind of like Arieal from Little Mermaid, but with a gothic twist XD*
Celestia though, she's the Goddess, she sits on her pedestal planning her plans, she may act nice, she may act sagely, but IMO she is a deceiver, she manipulates people with her words, her voice, never lending a hoof to do anything, her friends & family are just pawns in whatever her grand scheme is and that comes back to bite her IMO, I mean look at the one time she did try to do something, she got her Flank kicked by Chrysalis, sure the Changeling Queen was hyped up on love juice and what not, but still if Tia was in top form, she could have taken her. And who knows maybe thats part of it, Celestia knows her powers are getting Weaker, so she needs powerful allies at her side, but even then, it doesn't make her feel like any more of a trustworthy character. Childrens show or not, until her little machinations come full circle, I think fans have every right to question her motives.
But yeah theres no denying the Finale while it did have a few heart warming moments had a lot more to contend with this time around, should at least have been a two parter, but that could be said for most of season 3's episodes XD.
Thank you for the kind words every pony. I was just shocked by how shallow someone was to me based on my choice of television shows. I know its My Little Pony but first its not like I go around telling them I never want to talk or see them because they watch something which is silly and second, I was really impressed with how Friendship Is Magic was done, it really is a show everyone can enjoy. Thanks again for your replies I needed to hear another pony's thoughts. I am going to buy some new bed sheets this weekend and I was looking at the My Little Pony : Friendship Is Magic ones on amazon.com. Overall yeah its fine for what it is, I can understand people's concerns, but I'm not too worried, the show still has (most of) the same team it started with, and season 4 will be 26 episodes again, so thats good.
I mean call me naive, but considering the people who work on pony are the same people that have given us Foster's, Power Puff Girls, Samurai Jack, My Life As A Teenage Robot, and even some writers that have written for series like Land Before TIme, Angry Beavers, Rugrats, Spongebob, Adventure Time, & South Park, etc. I'm not too worried about the shows future, sure it'll be arguably more difficult to write more Slice-Of-Life style Twilight eps from now on, but hey, its also a great excuse to use her as a vehicle to expand the world & mythos even more! And we still have the other 5, Spike & the CMC for the more comedic & heart-tugging SOL eps.
Anywho the first issue of the MLP Spotlight comics came out today, it of course focused on Twilight Sparkle *who is still a unicorn in the comics of course as these things, like cartoons are written a year in advance & not even IDW knew of Twilicorn, so yeah..* And it was a pretty fun little issue, I really enjoyed Zahler's writing, if anyone is able to I'd deffinantly check it out!

Some Fun News from the first Brony-Con of the Year Equestria LA about season 4!
-The Season 4 opener will focus on Twilight's fears and questions after becoming a princess. As an editorial note, I have every faith in Meghan and the crew that they'll lay our own questions to rest.
-We might see Trixie again. *Yep as a Fan Favorite character like Discord, Luna, etc she has to pop up at least once a season.
- Rarity is confirmed to have multiple episodes in season 4 to make up for her lack of season 3 episodes.
- We will learn more about Equestrian History & Lore, its hinted we may learn more about Alicorns in general
Also some Clarifications on Season 3 controversies...
- The Season 3 Finale "Magical Mystery Cure" was written in November of 2011, so it wasn't a last minute editorial mandate by Hasbro
- "Spike At Your Service" was meant to be a Spike/Rarity episode, but the way the script was written it actually had Rarity acting too out of character and too abusive towards Spike, thus it was retooled into a Spike/AJ ep by Polskey & Merriweather *which we all know that sadly didn't turn out so well* This also explains why Rarity never got her own episode in season 3
- King Sombra was indeed supposed to be like Saouron from LOTR, but McCarthy did plan to expand on him a bit more they just didn't have the time, and yes he is indeed dead *sadly*
- At the end of the day MLP:FIM has like any Hasbro property been made to sale toys, however the writers have stated Hasbro is not some "satanic cooperation" Infact they have been very supportive of the writers and realize its the shows quality writing that has helped make it popular, they give the writers space to do what they want, and mandates/suggestions are fairly minimal compared to most other toyetic animations anyone in the group has worked on "like those horrid Barbie & Bratz DTV films XD*
- The writers admitted they all have their own strengths & weaknesses when it comes to characters, Larson stays away from Fluttershy episodes because he feels he can't write her, Meghan finds AJ boring, and Cindy can't stand Rarity XD. *Thus the reason Larson & Meghan stick to Twilight & Cindy does most of the Apple Family & CMC eps* XD
- Polsky apparently even gets some extra guff from the rest of the team, but they keep him on because they know he can do a good job with comedic episodes *so yeah hopefully that means in season 4 he'll only be on Pinkie Pie & Discord eps like he should be! XD*
- None of the MLP:FIM writing staff has any idea about the Equestria Girls Spin-off, so it will most likely be done by a different group of people.
And on a Bonus note the MLP:FIM comic will indeed be going along its own parallel cannon to the show, so its not cannon with the show, but shares its history to a point.

-We might see Trixie again. *Yep as a Fan Favorite character like Discord, Luna, etc she has to pop up at least once a season.
- Rarity is confirmed to have multiple episodes in season 4 to make up for her lack of season 3 episodes.
- We will learn more about Equestrian History & Lore, its hinted we may learn more about Alicorns in general
Also some Clarifications on Season 3 controversies...
- The Season 3 Finale "Magical Mystery Cure" was written in November of 2011, so it wasn't a last minute editorial mandate by Hasbro
- "Spike At Your Service" was meant to be a Spike/Rarity episode, but the way the script was written it actually had Rarity acting too out of character and too abusive towards Spike, thus it was retooled into a Spike/AJ ep by Polskey & Merriweather *which we all know that sadly didn't turn out so well* This also explains why Rarity never got her own episode in season 3
- King Sombra was indeed supposed to be like Saouron from LOTR, but McCarthy did plan to expand on him a bit more they just didn't have the time, and yes he is indeed dead *sadly*
- At the end of the day MLP:FIM has like any Hasbro property been made to sale toys, however the writers have stated Hasbro is not some "satanic cooperation" Infact they have been very supportive of the writers and realize its the shows quality writing that has helped make it popular, they give the writers space to do what they want, and mandates/suggestions are fairly minimal compared to most other toyetic animations anyone in the group has worked on "like those horrid Barbie & Bratz DTV films XD*
- The writers admitted they all have their own strengths & weaknesses when it comes to characters, Larson stays away from Fluttershy episodes because he feels he can't write her, Meghan finds AJ boring, and Cindy can't stand Rarity XD. *Thus the reason Larson & Meghan stick to Twilight & Cindy does most of the Apple Family & CMC eps* XD
- Polsky apparently even gets some extra guff from the rest of the team, but they keep him on because they know he can do a good job with comedic episodes *so yeah hopefully that means in season 4 he'll only be on Pinkie Pie & Discord eps like he should be! XD*
- None of the MLP:FIM writing staff has any idea about the Equestria Girls Spin-off, so it will most likely be done by a different group of people.
And on a Bonus note the MLP:FIM comic will indeed be going along its own parallel cannon to the show, so its not cannon with the show, but shares its history to a point.
