And yes I agree that its pretty obvious Twilight is MLP's Hot Shot/Rodimus Prime character.
It's Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime on the Transformers Movie with Unicron, then Optimus eventually comes back to help fight the hate plaque by using the wisdom stored in the matrix. He came back in another episode, but that's a whole different story.
Anyways, watched the new episodes, good, but, as I said, it could've easily been a 3 or 4 parter. Easily.
anyone else getting kind of tired of Rarity calling Spike by his pet name.... Spikey Wikey....its...not that cute anymore Ms. Rarity.
Nope. Gotta keep that ship afloat. Spike x Rarity OTP
@Renzo Haha I hear that!
Rarity should change her profession from Fashionista to serpent charmer XD.
@ Neon: From what I can tell the team has been told to keep the series fairly episodic, so I guess 2-parters are all they are allowed to do atm, although hopefully Hasbro will eventually get more lenient with the formatting of the show as they have with the content.

Yes, as much as I would like these episodes or story archs to be longer - I mean, the first, second and third season premieres - and the second season finale to add to that, kind of felt like, they were on fast forward so to speak.
But, watching this show, it's very easy to forget, guys like us that love a story that does draw out and gets into details weren't the original target audience - in other words, as good as this series is, it does have to primarily accomodate to a younger audience who is a little less patient and, who feels time much slower; remember being a kid? An hour was practically an eternity.
But, considering the original MLP G1 movie - a full length movie of this new series would be very welcome - and that original one they really did all they could to stretch it - and who could forget those catchy songs, classics like "Ill go it Alone," and "The Smooze." I'm joking just so everyone knows, but seriously, if THAT could be made into a movie, what's stopping them from doing even just a direct to BD or DVD MLPFIM movie - everyone would just eat it up.
So, from this perspective, I can understand that many of the episodes do need to get to the point a little quicker than what a guy like me - who loves movies and anime - is used to.
Now, a series like Star Wars Clone Wars, while it is kid friendly, I can tell with the 5 - 6 episode story archs (some of which are alomost better than the movies) it is going very far to appeal to us older people. But, it is a different show and the anticipated target audience is, well, much wider.
"The Crystal Empire" was very disappointing. I watched it with a group of people as it premiered on TV, and we all came to the same conclusion. While it had some funny/cool bits, the story was completely disjointed, and never added up to more than the sum of its parts. It didn't emotionally resonate like "Return of Harmony" or "Canterlot Wedding"...it felt like a simplistic video game plot where the characters just need to find a MacGuffin to defeat a generically evil villain. I've always been wary of the show getting too far to the adventure side, and this has made me even more wary. I can still imagine, with hope, though, that this was only bad because they were forced to market Crystal Empire play sets and crystal pony toys (like the blind bags and stuff).
@einhorn303 - as I said - should've been longer, more screen time for all the characters, and more importantly, more backstory and info on the crystal kingdom and its inhabitants. There is a lot of material there to work with, but a lack of exploration of that material. This was the same issue I had with the Tranformers movies (except the second one, it just sucked), still liked one and three, but like these new MLP episodes, the potential and possibilities didn't seem opened.
As I mentioned, with some of these premieres and finales, they rushed, or like they're on fast forward. Also, lets face it, Discord at the start of season 2 and the finale of said season seems pretty tough to top.
@Eihorn: Well i'm sorry you were disappointed in the premiere, but yeah as stated by me & neon, the 2-parters in general are basically movie style stories on fast forward. And personally I don't mind more action/adventure style stories, but again I do agree they need to be fleshed out more instead of being restricted to 2-parters.
Also as for the Villain King Sombra, call me crazy, but I don't think we've seen the last of him, I mean I know he blew-up and everything, but if you'll notice during the explosion his red horn goes flying off towards the screen, I think he's one of the villains that as long as a piece of him remains intact he can eventually regenerate. Again my take on Crystal Empire is that it did what it set out to do, it expanded on the world and developed the overall story further, its true Sombra was nothing but a plot device, but thats not necessarily a bad thing, the main cast all had pretty good moments, and at the end of the day they are who the show is about, especially Twilight. So yeah it accomplished what it needed to even if it was rushed, and we did get some nice foreshadowing at the end with Luna's Book.
Anywho the next "Key" (important) episode in season 3 is Magic Duel which will be on 12/1 (the others on 11/17 and 11/24 are more of your typical for fun episodes) where Trixie returns and actually beats Twilight, and from the previews EQD has shown us, I wouldn't be too suprised if Trixie's new dark magic powers came from Sombra or some other baddie. I mean if this preview image is to be taken seriously, looks like Trixie gets some pretty powerful dark magic Mojo.
So yeah, I still have faith season 3 will be another solid season of the show even if feelings about the premiere are mixed.
Anywho next week, Ponyville gets run over by an army of Pinkie Pie Clone, how will the universe survive!? XD

Yes, and by keeping things pretty simple with the villians it leaves room for further development should (and yes, they should) appear again.
Anyways. looked at that little pony game you have linked there, so I made one, please don't laugh:
It was hard to get the skin tone down, but whatever. There was nothing there that looked like a lab coat like I wear to work, so,I went with the coverall look.
@Neon: Indeed its always good to leave an opening for villains to return. I mean we know for a fact in this season alone Trixie and Discord both make returns at some point. No reason Sombra can't come back in a future season or even future episode as well.
Also I see you decided to make yourself an Alicorn, you do realize this means we now have to give you your own country to rule over, commence the building of Neonopolis! XD But yeah, good job, it looks pretty neat.
Edit: Not sure if I posted this yet or not so... Zap2It has the synopsis for Episode 6 of Season 3 posted. Here yea go
Season 3, Episode 6 Title Sleepless in Ponyville Airdate: December 8 Synopsos: Scootaloo begins to have nightmares after hearing the frightful campfire stories.
Glad to see Scootaloo finally get an episode, she's by far the most underdeveloped member of the CMC. Also wonder if we'll finally get to see her parents/family in this ep. * Cause frankly i'm kinda tired of the whole fannon joke that she's an orphan*
Also forgot to post these earlier so heres some fun "rest of season" type preview commercials/teasers. Enjoy!

Is that for sure? Discord? I know it's pretty certain Trixie will come back, which is great, wonder what she has cooked up - wait and see.

Haha - you do realize such a place would consist of a population of 1. Hey, doesn't Luna look after the moon? Or nighttime? Something like that wouldn't be to bad. Maybe I could look after Saturn - look you've been to Saturn, I've been to Saturn. Whoa, Sandworms, you hate them right? I hate them myself.
Anyways, watched those trailers - what's with Pinkie doing that G1 pony look there? Now that's something I'm anxious to see.
@Neon: Yeah John Delance mentioned Discord would be returning in a season 3 episode, but knowing him he could be trolling a bit, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just in the form of a Flashback or Flash-back style episode something, we will just have to wait & see.
Also considering the preview pics we've gotten (the Trixified Ponyville & Trixie wearing a alicorn pendant) I would say she probably has quite the revenge scheme set up, alas we won't be able to see Trixie take over till December 1st. *what a way that'll be to start the Holidays XD* But it is interesting the though of her going from minor antagonist to big bad, I think the only big question I have is will the episode end with her staying a villain or will Twilight finally get through to her? I guess as you said we will have to wait & see.
And yeah basically Celestia is the day guard & Luna is the night guard of the kingdom. As for her & the moon, theres been some speculation (as well as hints from writers) she may or may not have her own Palace up there (one of the writers mentioned they would like to visit Luna's moon base some day, although that was said partially in jest, but hey you never know) And speaking of night guard I hope theres another episode set during the night so we can see Luna's cool Bat/Dragon winged Pegasus guards again!
And I think pinkie is actually making the face of her G3 self in that clip, sort of a jab at how bad the previous incarnation was, but yeah I too am eager to see what context the joke will be used in.
Any-who not much else to say right now, although I will say the MLP Mobile/iPad game is driving me crazy its near impossible to get gemstones unless you pay Gameloft actual $$$ to download em or get a Gameloft gift card, darn you Gameloft you manically evil peoplez! XD But it is fun overall sim-city style games are addictive. Even if they are tedious.
