But yes, to put it simply, the show works because its well written, (mostly) well animated, and has a group of people behind it that not only have decades of experience in televised animation, but also that genuinely care about the quality of the product they are releasing for people to view/consume.

WE FINALLY HAVE A START DATE FOR SEASON 3...Sorta. While no set day has been announced it has been revealed that season 3 will indeed begin some time this OCTOBER!
And here is the Synopsis for the first episode.
Title: The Crystal Empire, Part 1 Air Date: TBA October 2012 Synopsis: a magical empire has suddenly appeared in the arctic north of Equestria, and PRINCESS CELESTIA needs TWILIGHT SPARKLE and her friends to find a way to protect it. While her friends try to keep the Crystal Ponies occupied at the Crystal Faire, TWILIGHT SPARKLE searches for the hidden Crystal Heart that is the key to keeping their empire safe from harm!
Also Enterplay is having a survey to help improve on the quality of the MLP trading cards, they want fan feedback before they start work on series 2 of the MLP Trading Cards, the survey can be found HERE. Also anyone who participates between now & the 16th is eligible for a FREE copy of the Fluttershy Promo card! Given out at one of the Bronycon's earlier this year.
I'm not sure is anyone else has been following the Bronies vs Benders charity drive competition on Reddit, but the results are in and the Brony team has come away with a decisive victory!

Given I haven't actually donated much money to charities, but if I had the financial power to do so I would...alas, i'm on a tight budget for the rest of the year as of now it would seem *too much loose spending durning the summer I suck at saving *.
I did give some poor sod $10.00 for the Taxi a couple of weeks ago though. I count that as my good deed for the year. XD.
But ahh yeah theres actually alot of Brony charities around the net, the Humble Brony Bundle is the biggest it seems.

IDW recently did something Similar with the Popeye comics making as if it would only be a limited series but the 1st issue sold so well they made it a regular ongoing. So it seems weather MLP will become a legit ongoing or only last 4 issues depends on how well the first couple of issues sell, so keep your fingers crossed! *knock on wood!!!*

EDIT 2: Wow...lots of Pony News tonight. Looks like their may be a Direct to DVD MLP movie in the works (wait, since this is an anime forum should I call it a MLP OVA/OAD!? XD ) But yeah Top Draw the studio that does part of the animation for the show listed a 66 minute MLP Direct to DVD Project with a production run from Augst 27th to December 21st 2012. Personally my guess/hope is if its not a new story completely, maybe a directors cut of the Discord 2-parter, I mean everyone says it would have been even better as an actual movie... hmm. But yeah look foward to learning more info about this as it comes to light.
Also as for season 3, from the hubs recent teases it seems Season 3 will most likely Begin in Late October or Early November so the TBA post I previously made actually counts for October or November. And yes sadly it does seem the reason they are pushing the air date back so much is to coincide with the late fall release of the Crystal Empire Toyline. But the 1st Season 3 Promo will air on October 20th *according to the HUBS FB & Twitter pages* so be on the look out for that, promos are shown 1-2 weeks in advance of the actual airing on the hub network, so season 3 will most likely start either October 27th or November 3rd. Personally I think its a bad move for them to wait this long to air it, although I understand as season 3 being only 13 episodes they have make at least a bit of it last till 2013, seeing as how season 4 most likely won't air for quite some time after S3 finishes up.
