OK if your a fan of classic Video Game characters, you know that Megaman Celebrates his 25th Anniversary this year, and I bet your thinking that would be a pretty big deal and you would be right, sadly seems Capcom didn't think so as all the poor boy got was a crappy free to download Megaman X Street Fighter PC Game. *I know your asking why this isn't in the game section, well just read through and I think you'll see why.
So I decided to make this thread, where fans can come and give PROPER respect and love to everyone's favorite Blue-Bomber on his 25th B-day! Share your experience with fellow fans, what was the first game you played, whats your favorite Mega Man Anime or Cartoon, have your read any of the Megaman comics or manga? etc, etc & so on.
Congrats Megamam, 25 years of amazing games, cartoons, anime, comics & manga! Heres to 25 more! Cheers *bumps E-Tank*

As for me my first experience with Mega-Man, like many others was playing Mega-Man 2, I remember trying me best to get through the first level at my elder cousins house, to no avail, years later I bought Mega Man 8 for my PS1 and played it religiously *mostly cause of the awesome/catchy op anime style scene* And after that played the games off & on.
As for cartoons I watched the original OVA back in the day through rental, dub was kind of bad even back then, and I saw a couple of the Ruby-Spears Megaman cartoon episodes in reruns on occasion, but for me the Mega Man cartoon I watched the most was NT warrior on Kids WB, that one was fun.
I also avidly collect Archie's Megaman Comic *which is actually doing a better job celebrating the characters 25th by having a big-crossover event with the Sonic comic, given it doesn't start till next spring, so its abit late, but its the thought that counts, right XD* And I also really enjoy Hitoshi Ariga's Megaman Mix manga's that Udon Crew has put out over the past couple of years, there pretty fun reads, sufficed to say, the Blue-Bomber is one of my favorite classic characters along with good ol Sonic, Mario & Kirby, and I find it a shame Capcom treats him so poorly these days.

*Can't wait for this event!*
Oh also, anyone else have a nerd-crush on Roll when they were a kid (yeah thats it, just when they were a kid..yeah...not like I still...cause that would be... haha..oh hey look a moose!...*runs off*)

At first i thought you were gonna say 'NOTHING' but maybe, MAYBE, all this crappy treatment is really for just one big suprise game!
Just for the fans to go 'Man, screw capcom. Treating MegaMan this way!. They came out with a game? 'Plays it' OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU CAPCOM' also can't wait for the cross-over!"

From what I've heard, the game was a fan-made creation, Capcom just merely licensed it and made it a free downloadable game to somewhat satisfy the Mega Man fan base that has been long deprived of any Mega Man titles since the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3, one of many of Capcom's upcoming fiascoes.
So I would think of Street Fighter X Megaman in this perspective. Capcom wasn't involved or had s*** to do with the development of the game. This was all made by A FAN! Someone who created this game out of the love of the two titles that are 25 years old and considering that this person took on this endeavor by himself, or possibly a few others (after all this isn't a company made game) I give that person that much respect that the game was presented out of the love of the two franchises and it's fans and if not for the guy that made the game Megaman would've been largely ignored. We all know Capcom sure as hell wouldn't have done anything to celebrate the blue bomber, the guy that put Capcom on the map! Ungrateful jerks.
Now that I'm done venting, my first experience with Mega Man wasn't from the NES but from the Game Boy, I got mine real early, at the age of 6 back in the Summer of '92 and the first stand alone game I got for my GB was Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge and I was instantly drawn to him and it pretty much solidified my fandom towards the blue bomber, even putting up with that campy, cheesy 90's Mega Man cartoon. The comics, as rare as they were for me to get, I managed to get a few of them. I still wish I had more of an opportunity to get enough to complete a series or two.
The crossover I would've LOVED to see was a Mega Man X Bomberman crossover. I loved playing games from both respective characters in the 90's and seeing them both together in a mash-up game would've been awesome beyond words. Even though it'll still remain as a fantasy, I can always dream.
So happy 25th to both Megaman and Street Fighter. I know Capcom treats you two in such an indignant matter when it comes to on-disc DLC B.S. or reshaping your model to some fat, overweight slob with an airsoft phaser, but I want you two know that you are still appreciated and Capcom should know that if not for Megaman and Street Fighter, they wouldn't have been as successful as they have been.
