I missed last weekends episode (there was en episode last weekend right?) anyone know if there will be an encore before the new episode on Saturday? But yeah looking forward to watching the rest, enjoyed the premiere, looking forward to watching the rest, need to set my DVR to tape it. Also heard on Toonzone it already got renewed for a second season, hope that means its doing well!
Glad you guys are enjoying it so far. I have to admit, episode 3 wasn't quite as good as the premiere IMO, but it was still pretty good. The next one (featuring the biggest Chuck Norris look-alike of all time) looks like it's gonna be even better though. And I agree with you Looney, the show is hitting a good balance between humor and action, something no incarnation has really managed to do before. So in that regard, it may shape up to be my favorite still yet.
Well, we're quite a few episodes in now, and we've even had the Shredder pop up at long last (though I'm two episodes behind myself at the moment). How has everyone been enjoying the show so far? I honestly do think this might be my favorite incarnation in a lot of ways, it hasn't let me down yet in any places I wasn't already aware it would anyway (IE the CG).
If you like it well enough to buy it, you're wish will soon be granted.
I'm hoping this will be a full set of 13 or so episodes, and not just a DVD single with 2-4 episodes, otherwise I'll probably wait for a more comprehensive set. Either way, I'm so glad it's coming out at least.
I've enjoyed the show pretty well so far, although I missed the Baxter Stockman episode.
But ahh yeah its a nice balance between the 80s/90s toons humor and the 2K3 toons action. I've enjoyed it a lot more then I thought I would, and as you mentioned the only real negative *which overall is just a personal nitpick I & others share* is the fact that its CGI, but even with that they have done a pretty good job, having the show set at night does wonders for the contrast between the backdrops & the turtles, and the shadowing affects at times give it a retro 80's comic vibe.
So yeah I like it, its not perfect, but its in my opinion any who pretty much the best action cartoon Nick has ATM other then Korra, and its something I'd deffinantly suggest to fellow long time turtles fans, and just any one who is a fan of solid all-ages action animations in general.
And glad to see were finally getting a DVD release! I look forward to picking it up, and I too hope its at least a 13 episode set and not just a single!
They rebooted this show as well? I may have to look into it.
I remember watching the original series back in the late 80's early 90's, hey, those of you who remember: Shredder = Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel -Air.
Glad there are some more people here besides me watching and enjoying the show after all heh. ^_^
Yeah, they've really succeeded in making a show that's the best of both worlds, the humor is worlds ahead of what 2K3 had, and the action is better than the old toon on it's best day. And I'm getting used to the CG by and by, it could be a lot worse, like it was in early promos. The anime-esque expressions are working well too, not too overdone.
As for the DVD, we've got a cover art (probably just tentative though) and a price over on Amazon.
At roughly $15, I definitely hope it's not just a cash grab of a few episodes.

Yup, the new show just started a couple of months ago. It's on Nickelodeon, if you wanna check it out. And Uncle Phil was an AWESOME Shredder, at least on the humor side of things.
Awesome, although i'm guessing at that price its probably just a 4-5 episode single, meh, better then nothing I guess. Heres hoping it does well and a proper season set follows suite.
Also, anyone else still find it Ironic we live in a world where you can buy a whole season of an anime you may have never heard of, but fans have to fight tooth & nail to get proper season/box sets of most cartoons? *sans the classics like Looney Tunes Shorts & Tom & Jerry*
A few days ago Nickelodeon announced that February 26th will see the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Rise of the Turtles, a DVD title with the first episodes of the new 2012 CGI-animated series. We didn't have a lot of info about this item at the time, but now our friends in the retail industry have passed along info showing that this is a single-disc title running 145 minutes for 6 episodes. You'll also get 6 behind-the-scenes Animatics (one for each episode), and a Karaoke Music Video for "Learning the Theme Song." Cost is $14.99 SRP, and you can pre-order it from Amazon at the button link below. We also have an early look at possible front box art for this title, but it is not finalized and could be subject to change:
So it's looking like it will be a single volume with just 6 episodes of the show. For a $15 price tag, I can't really swing it for that meager amount of episodes, but...maybe if Wal-mart gets it in stock and knocks a few more off, I'll grab it. Because I really, REALLY want to support this show's home release.
I'm also not liking the potential cover art on that page, near as much as the previous possible cover art.

LET ME PLAY FOR YOU, THE SONG OF MY PEOPLE!!!
The new episode should be up on Nick's video player if you want to watch it online.
"Of course you realize, this means war!" -- Bugs Bunny
"Here we gooooo!" -- Mario
Thanks for the info, I'll add that to my list of things to do.
I forget everyone has a video player these days..... is it weird that makes me feel old. XD
Dern whipper snappers back in my day you hadda put the tape in the VHS player and set it to....*goes off into old man rant*

Yeah, it is kinda sucky. Anime has spoiled me in that regard I think.
Well, we have some more info apparently, and it's as we feared.
