Re: cartoonetwork roots

Cartoon Network has been back on track since 2010, and your just now noticeing? Lol, But yeah, aside from canceling Generator Rex pre-maturly, im pretty happy with What they have done the past few years. Yep CN and the HUB Are the best networks for toons at the moment. Imo Anywho

Also..ahh Violent DOES NOT = good. The quality of a show amounts to the quality of its writing. Not how much action there is.

But yes there are many enjoyable series on Cartoon Network, both in the Action & Comedy department.

Just wish they would cancel level-up already and stop trying to make the dudes seem relevant. Human shows to me, seem to be holding cartoonetwork back as of the name cartoon. Iv grown to love Regular show and a little annoyed. Annoyed because of they tend to over use "dude" to much. Now if toonanime was back then all would be right

Toonanime? You mean TOONAMI. But yeah, like i've said before as much as I loved Toonami growing up, people need to realize that if it was still around the only anime it would be showing would be the toyetic series like Byakugan, Pokemon, etc.

However yes it would be nice if there was an anime block on regular cartoon network, as its apparent that Williams Street (the people in charge of the [Adult Swim] sub-network) don't care to acquire new anime that often. But hey whatcha gonna do,anime's bubble burst a long time ago, it just isn't the shiny new toy to U.S. networks it was.

But getting back on topic I would say that as long as CN continues to air new animations and eventually void all live action series, then there all good. (of course sadly [Adult Swim] won't do that as they pompously consider themselves their own network at this point, even though CN/Turner could pull the plug on them at any time if they wanted, but meh.)

Re: cartoonetwork roots

Nothing CN has today will ever compare to the lineup that we used to have on Cartoon Cartoon Fridays. They were cleverly thought out (some may have been a little wacky at times, but nothing outrageous) and even some of the stupider shows like Cow & Chicken and the Weasel spinoff had its moments.

Toonami just made CN that much more awesome. Not just the anime they had (thank you for introducing me to Rurouni Kenshin) but Justice League and Teen Titans were always fun to watch.

The shows on right now are just meh, the few decent ones out there are pretty outnumbered by the ones that are...uh, not so decent.

@Jaws: I fully respect your opinion, but also respectfully disagree, Nostalgia Goggles often skew our perception of both modern media & the shows we grew up with. While I can see why some may not like the newer comedies as well as others, Action shows like Thundercats & Young Justice are on par if not better then older action oriented anime & toons the network has aired.

But yeah, I agree it wouldn't hurt for CN to show some of their older shows more often, lol.

But yeah, CN's still hecka lot better off then the other networks I grew up with (in my personal opinion anywho) I mean I can't even stand to turn my TV to Disney or MTV...it just makes me sad.

But I digress.

..Oh my look at the time, well...good marrow all.
