I heard about it this morning, just as I woke up and went straight to the internet this morning.
I really hope they recover from this.
I'm still waiting to hear from some of my friends in Japan. So far three are alright, though I still haven't heard from a few. This waiting game sucks. It scares the crap out of me not knowing if they are ok.
If you're concerned about someone then you can use Google's 2011 Japan Earthquake Person Finder to either check for information or record their details to see if anyone knows anything.

I have heard about it. I got an Uncle in Japan and we haven't head from him. Also I got a few friends there that I am still waiting to hear from...I just Pray that everyone in Japan can preserver through this type of tragedy.
I hope your grandpa is alright, I happen to have a lot of internet friends who live their, so I am pretty sad about all of this.

I just found out all my friends in Japan are fine. This is excellent news. I just hope everyone who is suffering to do this is pulling through...
