I see the other major sports have threads so I thought I might make one for my one and only favorite sport.
So far there is a lockout but there is good news they may start the season on the 24th of October. I was hoping to talk about your prodictions until the season started and then talk about the season as it progressed.
My favorite team is the Colorado Avalanche and I don't think they will win the Stanley Cup but I think they will get in to the playoffs this season.
I'm not the biggest hockey fan, but if anything my two teams are the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Vancouver Canucks. As silly as this sounds, I had 2 Canadian girlfriends, one from the two respective cities and they we're into hockey so I learned the game from them. I would love for the Maple Leafs to return back to their former glory and for the Canucks to get that elusive championship. Oh man I felt their pain back in 2011.
Since the season hasn't started just yet, who knows what's bound to happen. I wish success for both of my teams.

The owners and players union need to get off their butts and figure something out. The League can't afford another season-long lockout.

I don't expect a season this year. Even if there is I know my team will do bad. San Jose won't be getting a cup for awhile
