@ Gomu - Like I said in my previous post before I editted this in, I don't think it's fair at all to say that moe is all about the fan-service. Heck, Air alone has a story just as deep (emotionally) as FMA, and both shows are shows I would call 'must see' titles, more than I would for a few that others normally list, like Cowboy Bebop.
I will admit that not ALL moe themed shows are completely shallow pre hentai messes (like Haruhi and so on), but it doesn't change the fact that the concept of moe is to draw viewers in solely with sex appeal. When a studio decides to add moe to any story, their thought isn't "Oh this will make the story way better!", their thought is "this will get those closet perverts to watch our show!". For every good moe type show, there are at least 10 shallow pointless fan servicy crapshoots that exist only to fuel fan's "lower horn". As I said before, in moderation, moe is ok, but the way the industry is trying to use it in almost everything is not ok and it needs to stop before there is not worth while anime left to watch...
For some people - once they see a certain fantasy (in this case Moe Anime Girls) depicted as perfect, then look back at the real and flawed world - it's not all that surprising.
It's not all that healthy either...
I just hope dat guy be trollin' because I love hot anime girls as much as the next guy, but to reject actual women in favor of fictional characters is... pretty f*cked up.

I'd say this, I think Moé is getting picked on simply because its the popular thing right now.
That's what happens with any genre when there's a glut in the industry. There's a lot of it so people notice.
I agree with this but want to also say that when any genre/niche gets popular their tends to be a lot of shows that are produced without much care. It is not that it is Moe specifically that I dislike Moe right now but more that so much of it in the market is bad that I get too turned off to go check the good shows out. It could be any genre/niche that becomes this way but right now it just happens to be Moe. At some point I will likely watch some Moe that is considered good but currently I am uninterested.

WTF I am not trolling at all!
Please explain to me why it is f*cked up? I love and feel more strongly about some anime characters than everyone in my life. What is wrong about loving and being obsessed with a anime girl that you reject actual women? I have rejected three girls in my life because of a anime girl I was crushing on! If I had any wish in the world it would to be able to live my life with moe anime girl!!

AWWW! I've never seen lelouch look so adorably moe! Or suzaku for that matter! XD
More like it's unfortunate that someone would forgo a real-life relationship in favor of one with a fictional character that can never actually happen. Like those Twihards that have unrealistic expectations about relationships because they want all guys to be like Edward Cullen.
please don't reference me in with those twilight idiots! Edward Cullen is an actor he is not the same person off screen. While moe anime girls fictional characters. And the reason why I feel so strongly and love some moe anime girls is not solely based on sex appeal! Unlike some of those twilight idiots.

*nudge* You may want to focus more on the topic and less on the people posting.

Okay, obvious troll is now obvious.
Anyways, enough derailing.
Moe encourages the use of cliché tropes and repetitive storytelling. Discuss.

Um, anime has been doing both of those for a loooooong time before moe became overused, so you can't really blame it all on that.
