Last year - back when these forums were still crawling with unwanted bugs - I originally came up with a tournament to help pass time and have some fun as the beta was being worked on. It turned out pretty well, all things considered.
So I’ve returned with the Amazons of Anime tournament: the event that features all the best female action characters in anime. Back then, I came up with the characters, but this time it’s up to you!
Rules for nominations:
1. Ten characters per person.
2. Please give the character’s full name and the anime she is from.
3. To help maintain variety, give no more than two characters from the same anime.
4. If someone has already been nominated, you can nominate her again.
5. This shouldn’t be too hard to follow, but I would like to keep everyone out that debuted in 2012.
This is completely optional, but I would also like a brief reason why you recommended a character. Also, in order to maintain integrity (what we call a warrior) please make sure your nominees fall into at least one of the following categories:
I - She must have military experience.
II - She must fight life or death battles regularly.
*III - She must specialize in martial arts, weapons, or magic, and use them on enemies.
*I stress this one, since there are a lot of female characters who might be seen using a weapon, but never actually use them in combat. For example, just being in a kendo club doesn’t count!
There were 128 warriors last time around, so I hope you guys can at least match that considering you've got from now until Sunday, May 27th. You may also change your list as many times as you want as long as this thread remains open. I’ll give out more details later in the official discussion thread, but for now, get nominating!

Revy - Black Lagoon. Serving as the muscle for the Lagoon Company, she's known as "Two-Hands" for hers skill with her custom dual Beretta M92s.
Evangeline Anathasia Katherine McDowell - Mahou Sensei Negima: The Girl Queen of Darkness, The Visitation of Woe, The Disciple of Dark Tomes, The Dark Evangel, The Demon Lord in the Form of a Child, The Tidings of Evil, the Undying Mage, the High Daylight Walker, the list goes on...
Saber(Arturia Pendragon) - Fate Series: Considered one of the strongest Heroic Spirits, she wields the Noble Phantasm Excalibur and is a veteran of the 4th and 5th Holy Grail Wars.
Nanoha Takamachi - Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha: Known to her enemies as "The White Devil", known to her friends as "The Ace in the Sky", and known on the internet for "befriending with extreme prejudice".
Yuno Gasai - Future Diary: An obsessive stalker, she will go to any lemgths to protect the object of her twisted affections. Dangerously psychotic and even more dangerously cunning. She is also skilled with all manner of weaponry.
Lina Inverse - Slayers Series: A hot-headed young sorceress with a penchant for destruction. On a constant quest for treasure and gold, she'll take on any job for the right price, and even save the world from time to time. Also known as "Lina the Bandit Killer", "The Dragon Spooker" and "Enemy to All Who Live".
Don't forget. Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you.

Oh happy days, the Amazons of Anime Tourney is almost upon us once again!
Well, here are my nominations, two of them are a little bit questionable so I'll have to let you guys decide whether or not I'll need to switch them up.
1. Saber - Fate Series: A servant that participated in both the 4th and 5th Holy Grail Wars. She wields the famous sword Excalibur and uses it's awesome power to combat the other servant/master teams during the conflict. She's also extremely badass
2. Shiki Ryougi - Kara no Kyōkai - The Garden of Sinners: Owner of the "Mystic Eyes of Death Perception",
3. Erza Scarlet - Fairy Tail: An S Class wizard in the Fairy Tail guild also known as "Fairy Queen, Titania". She is considered the strongest female wizard in the guild and is quick to punish anyone who goes against the guild rules. She uses a type of re-equip magic called "The Knight" and can change her armor and weapons to fit the current situation at hand in the blink of an eye.
*4. Rune Balot - Mardock Scramble: Now, as much as I want to have her in the tourney, I've only seen the first movie and the butt kicking doesn't really start till towards the end. When it does kick in though, this brought back from the brink of death to catch her attempted killer uses her newly obtained cyborg abilities to wreak havoc on her enemies with the help of a golden mouse that can transform into whatever weapon she might need.
5. Seras Victoria - Hellsing: A badass Vampire that has a tendency to tear apart ghouls and wields the "Hellsing ARMS Anti-Midian Cannon 'Harkonnen'" that's about twice her size to mow down any enemy in her path.
6. Lina Inverse - Slayers: Giga Slave, I don't think much more needs to be said.
7. Gertrud Barkhorn - Strike Witches: She flies around dual-wielding MG 151 Cannons and has the second highest kill count of the 501st. She also has the strength to toss around steel girders many times her own size with out much trouble.
8. Kuro - Kurokami The Animation: Ya know, there really aren't enough female characters in anime that specialize in beating their enemies to a pulp with their fists, it's almost always knives or pistols. It was a breath of fresh air to see Kuro here dropping her enemies one by one using her viciously effective fisticuffs skills.
9. Lucy - Elfen Lied: Invisible arms that are used to tear people to shreds on numerous occasions? Ya, I think that counts.
*10. Genocyber - Genocyber: Ya, I'm really stretching it here, but I wanted to have at least one character that I figured no one would put a nomination in for lol. Now technically Genocyber is in fact the souls of twin sisters Diana and Elaine after Elaine's soul merges with Diana, Genocyber is more or less a god in terms of power. Genocyber doesn't actually show up too often, but when she does, expect tons of destruction, death, blood, the works. I'm still iffy as to whether she qualifies though, being two people and all. Hell I'm not even sure Genocyber is actually female, I'm just assuming that's the case under the circumstances of its creation.

Eila Ilmatar Juttilanen - Military Experience, fights for humanity, can read the future (from Strike Witches)
Erica Hartmann - biggest shootdown ratio... just pure awesomenss (from Strike WItches)
Saeko - Fights Zombies with a sword of Epicosity (from HoTD)
Yuri - Fights against God, and Angel to the "death"
And she is a great leader (from Angel Beats)
Rinslet Walker Fights with guns and whips and can steal anything (from Black Cat)
Moka Akashiya - Vampire that cannot be defeated (from Rosario+Vampire)
