3 and 4 are tied and everything after 5 is not in order. Yay! For having nothing else to do and making REALLY long posts!
Fruits Basket
It was the first manga I ever read and I fell in love with it instantly. I love everything about this series, from it's plain silliness (I'm talking about you Kakeru!) to it's heart warming life lessons to even it's darker tones (that were kept out of the anime). For these reasons (and many more) Fruits Basket will ALWAYS remain my favorite manga. If you have seen the anime but haven't read the manga you REALLY need to read it cause they left a LOT out.
FullMetal Alchemist
I actually hadn't even read FMA until about 2 weeks ago. But I still love it, and having seen both FMA and FMAB before reading it, I knew that I was going to love the series (I just didn't think I would love it this much!). FMA was actually the first anime I ever saw on cable TV (after 10 or 12 years of my brother constantly asking to get cable back we finally did and this was the first thing I remember seeing).
Yu Yu Hakusho
Now Yu Yu Hakusho wasn't a show that I grew up with (unlike my brothers) but it was one of the shows that got me into anime (along with the Robotech movie, Trinity Blood, the 4th Inuyasha movie and the FMA movie, but when I first watched these I wasn't really into them). For some odd reason, although I was only 12 at the time (and a girl mind you), I remember staying up till 4 AM watching Yu Yu Hakusho with my brothers. And just like FMA it wasn't until recently that I actually read the manga (read it back in February of this year). Although I love the manga I actually like the anime more cause (if this makes any sense), the manga has more filler in it than the anime does (I'm talking about the very beginning of the manga and the very end). But all in all I still love the series.
Death Note
Death Note technically would have been my first manga, if it hadn't been for the fact that I had to wait for my library to get it and while I was waiting I found Fruits Basket! I've always liked mystery/drama/suspense real life stories (Video games are the same but for some odd reason the mystery/drama/suspense/horror animes and mangas have never been my cup of tea so to speak). But for some reason Death Note just caught my attention and I just couldn't put it down, I HAD to keep reading. The whole time I was on the edge of my seat (so to speak) wondering if Light was ever going to get caught or whether he was going to get away with it. But I will say that although the story and the characters were great sometimes it would get a bit to wordy and became hard to understand (TMI). But I was still able to some what understand what was going on, although I did have to watch the anime about 3 times to be able to fully understand everything that was going on.
Ouran High School Host Club
OHSHC I found by accident, but I'm glad I did cause it's so funny and off the wall and (sometimes) serious that it almost reminded me of Fruits Basket. Which is why I love it! (this is just random but I support the HaruhixTamaki pairing although my favorite host would have to be Kyoya)
Shugo Chara
A friend of mine told me about Shugo Chara, and although I was unsure about it at first I soon started liking it (and with that I showed it to another one of my friends and she fell heads over heels in love with it). It took me awhile before I actually started reading the manga but I loved it even more when I did (Yay! no fillers!). At that time I was just starting to watch Sailor Moon while I was watching/reading Shugo Chara so I found a lot of similarities (lol), but I didn't mind.
Aishiteruze Baby
I found Aishiretuze Baby after seeing it on an AMV.The plot isn't as good as the others on here but I like the drawing style.
Azumanga Diaoh
Who doesn't like Azumanga Diaoh?! It's SO off the wall, gut busting, hilarious, that you have to like it!
Dragon Ball/Bleach
I'm still in the process of reading Dragon Ball so I'm not even sure if I will like it as much as the others (reason why I put Bleach up here to) but so far it's good. Bleach I like just cause I like fighting type anime/manga (hence Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragon Ball).
Skip Beat
Skip Beat is another anime that my friend (same friend who showed me Shugo Chara) told me about. If anything this one would have to be my number ten just cause I like it (that and I've watched I a lot of anime but I'm still haven't read their manga's yet). But it's just a fun story about girl trying to became famous (and revenge), which I think almost everybody wants to become famous at some point in there lives.
