We have many manga threads on the forums to disscuss series, but it seems more are about disscussing scans instead of the Legal U.S. releases, I myself think since this is a forum run by a company, that it should only allow threads for disscussions of the legal releases of manga series?
I mean I don't want to get into an argument about the legality or the morality of scans or what not, but I think for the sake of keeping the threads nice, clean & proffesional disscussions about "New chapters" of manga you have read on sites not sanctioned by any manga publisher shouldn't be talked about on Funi forums.
Same thing could be said for illegal subs of anime as well.
So, whats your Opinion?

If your someone who read/wathes titles that are not licenced yet then I would think you'd want to refrain. But I really don't see to much of a issue. Thoes same methods of viewing is one way fans can tell compainies what show they would like to see licenced.
I reject your reality and replace it with my own.
You make a good point, however, and this may just be the goody-goody in me. Talking about scanlations &/or fan-subs on a site run by an anime distribution company just seems a tad...well rude IMPO.

And I agree. It is rude to them. But as much I would like to say Stop all illeagal streaming/scans, I know it won't happen. I'm not perfect by and streach of the word. But at least when a compainy like funi does the simul cast, I support that and watch their stream. But if no one has it leagaly, well, I become bad. And when the products I like become available through said company, I buy. So I at least try to give back to the system the works to bring me waht I like.

I too understand what you're saying and can completely agree with it, however I as Dragon0 also said am far from perfect myself and do a very similar process if I can't find a legal manner of supporting said product immediately. But of course I do support it as soon as it is available.
It's hard topic to say a positive yes or no as I'm sure some of the animes talked about funi looks at and sees fans reactions towards them as marketing info. Also Funi seems to be trying their best to make this a rather fan friendly board, so by prevent such conversation they'd probably also lose a fairway of the traffic through here...touchy but good subject to discuss for sure.
Anyone can talk about whatever they're reading and watching. It's not like anyone's posting links to the sites they use. There is nothing wrong or illegal about watching fansubs or scanlations if somethings aren't even available here. You have no right to tell say what people should and shouldn't post if it's not even breaking any rules. This is a forum where people can feel free to share what they are watching/reading and post about it like any other anime forum.

Pretty much what Adam said. If I want to talk about something new and exciting I'm going to talk about it not wait so many years until it gets an official release in the US. Besides no one is breaking the ToS by discussing a new anime/manga series since no one is posting links to illegal sites.
I think it's essentially fine, so long as nobody starts saying WHERE they read it. I mean, hey - for all you know, we're actually importing the Japanese Weekly Jump and reading it, right? Right?
And with any luck, there'll be a time in the future where we won't have to worry about it - I think it's high-time we get some kind of legal streaming equivalent for manga.

If FUNimation can use rips from CR's subs in order to hurry along their production schedule because they haven't gotten their materials yet from Japan, then I don't see why fans can use discuss series using fansubs or scanlations when the NA release is behind. Yeah, support the official release and all that, but I don't see what the huge problem is when almost everybody in the industry has used these things at one time or another.

I will agree these are things that cannot be stopped, but Adam saying theres nothing wrong with it, is absoultly..well WRONG. they are ILLEGAL, and people should not act as if they arn't.
But yeah, I guess in the long run nothing can be done about people watching/reading scans/fan-subs. or talking about set matrial. I myself though still think its abit of a kick in the ballz to do so on a site run by a company that legaly acquires japanese media.
But hey, since when has common decancy or any other goody-two shoes type of thinking meant anything on the internet, lol. (note that was not meant to be rude or demeaning to anyone here, just a sad observation about the internet as a whole, lol.)

In my own view, as long as you don't state your source of how you are reading the series, then it should be fine to discuss the chapters. Of course, only if they are not legally available where you live.
