Rosario+Vampire MANGA Disscussion Thread.

Come here to chat about the Rosario+Vampire Manga series.

I'll start, 1st off. This is probably one of my favorite modern manga series, and one of the few modern harems I genuinly enjoy, And I'll tale you why in a second...but before I do that..

Many fans only Know Rosario from its lack-luster anime adaption. And while that still has the same over all story, Gonzo's anime adaption is a pale comparision to the origional Manga series, the Anime waters down the characters personalities and actually adds ecchi content (so like a reverse version of the Xebec's Negima.) I enjoy the Rosario+Vampire Magna becasue its like a modern Tenchi Muyo. Like Tenchi it is well balanced between all of its elements, story, character development, action, comedy, romance, fanservice, etc, etc and so on. Another thing I would like to note is that the Rosario manga is one of the tamest modern harem series when it comes to ecchi, given theres a few nosebleed worthy moments later one, but not nearly as many as most others. I like the Rosario Manga because (Unlike its ecchied-up, watered down, yet admitingly still watchable) anime counterpart, its a well written, fun, balanced modern harem series with characters I actually care about and an overall enjoyable read.

But enough of my ramblings... So what do the rest of my fellow Manga/comic readers think of Akihisa Ikeda's Rosario+Vampire Manga series.

And oh, before I forget..who are your favorite characters? Mine are Kurumu & Ruby. Mostly because I find them to be the most interesting.

I love the Rosario+Vampire manga! It's better than the anime, but I think that the first season of Rosario is pretty good so I'm going to buy it. My favorite rosario characters are:Moka!, Mizore, Gin, and Ruby

I didnt have anything against the anime adaptation. It did seem that it focused more on the fanservice and pantyshots than anything else. But aside from that i didnt think it was bad.

But dont get me wrong , yes the manga is better. The character development is better as well as theres alot more content.

My favorites would have to be Ginei and Mizore.

I didn't hate the anime, but the manga is much better. The manga definitely focuses more on action, especially in the later chapters(after the yuki-onna village arc) and is also a hell of a lot darker.

Spoiler: Highlight to view
The flashback to Akasha Bloodriver(Moka's mom)fighting Alucard was pretty brutal.

Also, Mizore and Akua FTW.

The anime was great, but more for the fanservice part not the story. The manga is, like everyone else is saying, much better. More detailed and great artwork. One of my favorite arcs is thge Snow Village fight. This current arc with Tsukune new transformation looks to be very interesting. My favorites are Mizore, Yukari, toss between Rubi and Kurumu.

Re: Rosario+Vampire MANGA Disscussion Thread.

While I've not yet watched the anime (intend to wait for the DVD release), I do enjoy reading the manga. I like the occult and monsters, but I do prefer when such is presented in a more accessible and, for lack of a better word, playful manner as is, I think, the case in Rosario+Vampire.

Though I've only just started volume 4 of Season II, so far, I've found I'm enjoying it just as much as Season I. I think the Season II focus on the female characters' stories is very interesting and shows the depth of the characters and that they did have lives, problems, and concerns before meeting Tsukune.

As for favorite characters, while I don't really dislike any of the characters, I've yet to feel very strong favoritism towards any one of them... I suppose perhaps Yukari, but that's really just because I like the witch's hat tongue

The anime is almost nothing like the manga. I would honestly recommend saving your money.

I agree with Renzo, its best to save your money & stick with the manga. Don't get me wrong, overall the anime adaption is watchable... but its pretty much just a hollow shell of the manga. again, watered down characters, added ecchi, and not to mention its not all that faithful to the manga its based on. Personally I'd just rent it, Only way I would suggest buying the anime is to wait awhile after its out and get used or bargin bin copies, lol.

Getting back to the main Topic, I really like how season II of the magna is expanding on the cast, were learning more about the characters families and backgrounds. And some comedic yet disturbing facts about the characters themselves (I mean who would have thought ruby was one of those girls, lol.) I mean you really don't usually get that much development in an anime/manga of this genre, so to have one that does so, well its rather refreshing. I look foward to the Release of Season II Volume 5 later this summer. I hope Akihisa Ikeda keeps up the good work.

Re: Rosario+Vampire MANGA Disscussion Thread.

I havent made it into Seaosn two of the Manga yet but I got Volume 1 of season 1 after a recomendation from a friend on Funimations old blog and the next day I immediantly went out and bought the first half of the series. I havent done that since I started reading Negima!

So far where I'm at in the series is volume 5 and I really love the story, although I do think it is a bit "lighter" then what I was expecting but I'm going to get the rest of the series soon I hope so I'll see how it progresses form there. Honestly I was a little worried after the first couple of volumes, the action was good but it seemed to always end up exactly the same, with Tsukune removing Moka's rosario and then her beating the crap out of whoever was there. Thankfully the later volumes made Tsukune a bit more of a participant in the story rather then a bystander.

Favorite characters are Kurumu and Mizore. Kurumu because I think that shes an intersting character to watch develop and Mizore pretty much for the comic relief that she provides and her powers are pretty cool in the manga.

Re: Rosario+Vampire MANGA Disscussion Thread.

I'll be buying the anime as well as rest of the manga personally, I already have 3-10 on the way of the first series, soon I'll buy the rest. Great series all around though imo, just wish the action was a bit better.
