I haven't read very many
Any good suggestions?

Anywho I see you say you like shojo, so I would reccommend Library Wars, as well as Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon & Codename: Sailor V.

But since I'm here anyways, some of the Big Name Shoujo mangas are Kimi no Todoke, Hana Yori Dango(Boys Over Flowers), KareKano(His and Her Circumstances), Skip Beat, Paradise Kiss, Vampire Knight and Maria-sama ga Miteru.

Some good shoujo/comedy manga that I like are Skip Beat , Alice in the Country of Hearts and the Wallflower .

Rumiko Takahasi's Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2 and Rin-ne might be good choices for you. You might also want to try Rurouni Kenshin by Nobuhiro Watsuki, it has some romance elements to it. Other gag maybe Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball by AKira Toriyama, he also has some short series like Neko Majin z. I don't know if these are necessarily up your alley but I'd look into them.

I liked school rumbble there is also a show but its good both ways
i thought the book kitchen princess was interesting also
