you get 1000 pts (+500) to spend on the site. Some manga chapters are like 98 pts, some volumes 1100. I guess each month I will get 1000 pts + 50pts. A decent amount for series that will stand no chance of ever releasing.
I agree with the idea that this a GREAT way to release many manga that would not be strong enough for a physical release, also it makes a great opportunity to simulcast manga... however it is to expensive, and the previews need to be longer.
I'm better off sticking to my awesome library that has a ton of manga.
ugh. I looked at it, and was it me or was some of the manga not translated?
It's good for series probably not coming to the US, but a waste for ones that are already released in stores and such. *sigh* a shame.
and I dont have a credit card to do so, more like I really dont trust it.
I have yet to visit the site, but from what it sounds like, people were expecting free manga, and are dissapointed that they have to pay a small fee for set manga. Frankly I don't see a big problem, yes I know many may not be old enough to have a credit card or may not have the money to do such a thing, but overall this JManga is still a good thing IMPO, it shows that the industry is trying its best to give the fans what they want, they want online manga, and now you have it. Yes you may not have every series, it may not be free like it is on illegal scanlation sites, but its a move foward none the less. I for one will will most likely get around to subscibing to it when I can. after I get other things out of the way. (So probably December, lol.)
But yeah, it may not be an idle situation for all, however its still a step foward. (just in case the SoundMonkey's quote ends here)
I was just hoping it would be like Crunchyroll's business model I have no problem with paying cause I've been a paying member of CR ever since they went legal cause they have the snail mail plan, but the problem is I can't with JManga. We have had credit cards in the past, but we abused them and went into debt. Me and my parents don't want to go through that again and most definetly not for this website and its terrible business model. Cause what if something happens and they shut down? I just lost wasted a lot of money on digital stuff and probably won't get my money back for.
Now if their business model was similar to CR where I can choose from various payment options and sub plans other than monthly (Cause I like paying for a whole year if the price isn't too outrageous) and I could read an unlimited amount of manga for that whole year or whatever I subscribed to then my money would be in the mail by now making its way to their office.
While this is a step in the right direction its a bad start. Hopefully they will change this business model to make it similar to CR in the future or at least have more payment options other than credit card and add a 12 month sub plan and give a reasonable amount of points for it.
What? You cant just use a debit card or a checking card? I didnt use a credit card.
Well I do have a Visa Debit card that I got at the bank when I created an account and when I asked about it the people at the bank said it wasn't credit card or I couldn't use it like one or whatever so...... yeah I thought I couldn't....>_>
Even if JManga did accept my debit card I have no job nor the money right now plus the prices are a bit too expensive compared to buying on other sites or in bookstores. I will sit back and watch how things go for the next few months and if they improve or lower the prices a bit I will think about it.
While I'm at it and this is off topic can I use my debit card to buy stuff off rightsuff??

I don't think your bank knows what it's talking about. Debit cards act like a credit card unless you're performing a PIN transaction (auth holds instead of taking the money right out of your account).
...unless I've been ordering wrong at Right Stuf for the past ~6 years. It should work fine on JManga and Crunchyroll, too.

some places do not accept debt cards though and that might be the place here

I don't think I'd accept a "debt" card either. :D
I've had more problems with the logo on the card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex)and shipping/billing addresses than whether or not it's debit or credit.
Well ended up getting some manga on it, Brocken Blood first chapter in color looked great.
