Award season is upon us and it's time once again for the yearly anime popularity contest. That's right, who will win big, and who will walk away with the shame of "Miss Congeniality"? You decide.
About.com is taking nominations for their Readers' Choice Awards until February 11th. They have a wide variety of categories from favorite anime releases, re-releases, streaming services, etc. Five finalists from each category will be selected by Anime.About.com and will advance to the final round of voting.
The final voting phase is where you come into play. You, and others like you, will pick from the top five in each category. This voting period will run from Feb. 19th - Mar. 19th. Winners will be announced Mar. 27th.
Here are the categories:
- Best New Anime of 2012 on DVD/BD
- Best New Anime of 2012 on Streaming/Download
- Best Anime Reissue in 2012 (Any Format)
- Best Anime Distributor of 2012 (Is there even a question?)
- Best Streaming/Download Service of 2012
Here's the link for the nomination form! Show us how much you love us! Spread the word and help us sweep all the categories.

for Best New Anime of 2012 on DVD/BD i would say Hellsing Ultimate or One Piece
I posted and nominate you guys also I don't view anime on any other page so i posted you guys for every thing.
I'm hoping you guys get it because you guys are the #1 anime distributor out there!!!!
I can't say you guys are the best...
Best new anime release in 2012 is Madoka
Best new anime streaming 2012 is Girls und Panzer
I haven't noticed any reissues in 2012
I seriously question if Funi is better than Sentai. (I don't need dubs to enjoy a show)
And finally crunchy blows Funi out of the water with streaming services.
I have no doubt FUNi will win. But there's a lot FUNi DIDN'T do.
FUNi licensed a LOT of anime but only sold the English-dubbed discs of about half of them. Popularity? "How much money you'd make?" Punishing us so-called "illegal downloaders?" (We still buy your anime, btw.)
I'm one of those people who actually like some of these titles that didn't get a chance. And I DEFINITELY against the fact that they'd rather focus on the anti-shounen, "hit too close to home" titles like B-gata H-kei, Iron Linebarrels, Cat Planet Cuties, Baka to Test, Rosa+Vamp, on down that long list.
(-_-);
Hoping for Steins;Gate and Haibane Renmei to be among the finalists in their respective categories.
Well I do love you Funimation you've dubbed some of my favorite anime to this day including One Piece and Shakugan no Shana so you got my vote just keep it up with the dubbing.
