Now how come Funimation's release of Last Exile doesn't have any of the extras from the Geneon release? It doesn't even have any previews of Funimation-licensed shows. Is this the current trend that new releases and license rescue releases (except for rescues shows involved in the Geneon/Funimation deal) are lacking in special features? Special features are an essential part of a DVD and Blu-Ray release.
If Funimation decided to re-release it (and finally release the coveted Blu-Ray edition) but with the special feautes, here's where the special feauters would be at:
- DVD 1: Non-Credit Opening (from volume 1), Original Japanese Opening (from volume 1), Staff Interview (Mahiro Maeda) (from volume 1), Art Gallery (from volume 1)
- DVD 2: Promotion Trailer (from volume 1), Non-Credit Ending (from volume 2), Original Japanese Ending (from volume 2), Commercial Collections (from volume 2)
- DVD 3: Art Gallery (from volume 2-4), LAST Exile Exhibition in Tokyo (from volume 4)
- DVD 4: Textless Opening Version 2 (from volume 5), Art Gallery (from volume 5-6), Ten-Star Announcement (from volume 6)
- Blu-Ray 1: Non-Credit Opening (from volume 1), Original Japanese Opening (from volume 1), Staff Interview (Mahiro Maeda) (from volume 1), Promotion Trailer (from volume 1),Commercial Collections (from volume 2), Art Gallery (from volume 1)
- Blu-Ray 2: Non-Credit Ending (from volume 2), Original Japanese Ending (from volume 2), Art Gallery (from volume 2-4),
- Blu-Ray 3: LAST Exile Exhibition in Tokyo (from volume 4), Textless Opening Version 2 (from volume 5), Ten-Star Announcement (from volume 6), Art Gallery (from volume 5-6)
