Re: Kanon 2002 vs 2006

I hadn't watched all of 2002, but what I had seen, I did like. It's similar to comparing Toei's Air and Clannad to KyoAni's. KyoAni was able to stay closer to the original VNs better than Toei, but Toei also had time constraints.  In the 2002 Kannon, I did like how Toei did a better job of setting up the ending.

Spoiler: Highlight to view
Honestly, Yuuichi having the headband (as in 2002) is more likely  than the headband staying in the same spot 7 years after the tree it was under got cut down. (2006) However on the other hand, showing all of Ayu's monolouge from the hospital scene does give almost too big of a hint of what is happening.

The length of KyoAni's however does allow more time for the emotional impacts to be felt,  something that I even felt Toei's Air and Clannad lacked.   And plus KyoAni's art is superior in my opinion.

THIS IS SO SAD.
On October 4th 1986, 18 people were locked away in a world between fantasy and reality.  Please copy and paste this status if you or someone you know have been attacked by witches.  Witches are evil and unstoppable and can crush you with cake.  93% of you won't copy and paste this because they were drowned in a sea of gelatin.  6% have already been locked away for all eternity in a Schrödinger's cat box.  Will you be in the 1% who opens the box and deny witches?

I haven't seen the 2002 version but I have seen clips and I have to agree with some naysayers.

The characters look much younger and have huge chins.
