hey guys, I'm an old funimation fan, back when they weren't as big and their biggest show at the time was dbz and yyh lol. I used to be part of the old forums, like the really really old version of the forums, I think it might even had been the first version lol. I do think i went by earthheartidiot, judging from the time frame of last i used message boards. Despite growing up (or old, considering the big 3-0 is on the horizon yeesh) I'm still a big fanatic when it comes to anime, though now a days it's hard to really find a good anime to my tastes that either a) isn't using a storyline that is WAAAY overused, or b.) has horrible voice acting... you know, the absolutely horrible voice acting that when you hear it makes you cry from embarrasement lol. I still love and value my old favorites, even though now I when i rewatch them i go 'omgs, how did i ever stand long enough to watch this?' or 'wow, no wonder my parents didnt want me watching that' lol, the last one always gets me...
Which leads me to how i got into anime... I am part of the generation that went gaga over sailor moon, however, that wasn't my first anime. i was introduced to this wonderful world via syfy (then known as scifi) when it had anime on saturday mornings. one saturday i woke up early bored, and turned on the tv to syfy to find this awesome cartoon with all these cool chicks in such vibrant colors and great soundtrack and all sorts of coolness. never did find out the name so i started watching every saturday morning for the name of the movie, and ended up watching Vampire Hunter D, Project Ako, Akira, and a whole bunch of others, before I ever learned the name of that movie (which was tenchi in Love) I was deep into anime fanaticism. About that time, toonami was born, watched Sailor moon, then YYH when it replaced sailormoon unexpectedly. At first i rebeled at the change but in the end, became a devout follower of yyh, especially hiei
. And that's how I ended up a funi fan.
and now, almost 17 yrs later, I'm happily engaged to a fellow yyh fan.
whoda thunk???

Welcome to the forums; hope that you post a lot around here.
If you are interested, don't forget to check out the link in my sig about requesting the FUNimation Channel.
actually, in amarillo i had the funi channel for like a small amount of time, when it was attached to another channel, there was a funi time slot for like four hours, it was cool, then all of a sudden it was taken off
but alas, i only watch tv for just a few shows now, Dr. Who and elementary for the most part. Normally ill just buy or rent anime, or watching it on netflix
Welcome back, I remember those old days of watching anime, back before toonami existed. I'll be 31 this year and I've been watching anime since I was a freshman in High School, hooked ever since. Well hopefully your time here is as great if not better than it was originally. Enjoy!
