This was an amazing anime when it came out i was so excited for such a story that felt so real. The only problem is that there has been no progress on the series in years and when i heard that Funimation picked it up i was even more excited to see that my favorite producer has taken rights to my all time favorite series. But to this day i have yet to see any new episodes and want to know is there ever going to be. But hands down Its a great series I like sub way better than dub. Just had to trow that in.

I have to agree. But I just had to add that although I have been a fan of initial d and funimation for years I was incredibly disappointed with the job they did on the dub for this show. Calling characters by the wrong name and describing what is going on with the cars incorrectly. Example in one race they say the front tires are "looseing pressure". That is just one example but there are plenty of things about the dub that make it almost unwatchable.
