I read an Otaku USA article about Hetalia and one of the faults it described about the series was that it glanced over the Holocaust. I had watched the first 35 episodes of Hetalia subbed and I recently finished it from 36-52 dubbed. In one of the episodes of the second season, France decides to spread rumors about Germany and he mentioned Germany imprisoning Jews in concentration camps and gassing them. Is this apart of the original dialogue or is it an attempt by the dubbed version to address the Holocaust? I kind of found it in poor taste because it was called a rumor by France. It would have been nice if a country like Poland first told France and then he spread it everywhere.

Hetalia doesn't touch on the Holocaust because it doesn't want to be ridiculously offensive. The creator purposely left out some sensitive parts of history to make Hetalia fit to the comedy/satire genre.
The anime especially is meant to be light-hearted and funny, and you can't do that with the Holocaust.
