Odds are, i hope, that Funimation will re-release the first 4 volumes throughout a year, dvd/blu-ray combo possibly, which may be why its taking so long. But I'd really like to see some news about it to reinforce the idea that they havent forgotten about it or the fans. I love the show and cant wait for more info about a release date!
We didn't for the first four episodes. Manga does do steelbooks, but usually only for films that will sell enough copies to justify the expense (Akira being the most recent example).
Well I know that the release schedule was indeed hung up on account of the Geneon-Universal Merger, but has anyone heard whether or not they made any headway on the merger or is it still in the works? Would any of this have been announced at any of the recent Cons?
Nothing definitive but word from the cons is that Funimation has material for some of the shows there were in limbo (Index and Railgun) so that would seem to indicate that things are FINALLY starting to move again. I'd expect to hear about Hellsing before the end of the year if things are indeed starting to get back on track.
2012 could be a really good year for Funimation if the economy manages a rebound.

Hellsing Ultimate is great, but I like the opening theme of the first series.
I'm excited for the rest of the episodes to get dubbed, this is one of the few anime that I enjoy in English and Japanese.
I think we will hear more info once the series is done being animated.
"The Dawn" will be on a bonus disc for the Japanese release of episode 8!!!

I was hoping that Hellsing Ultimate V-VII would be dubbed and released in America before the year was out. According to the scedule on this website, my hopes were unfounded, but at least it will happen next year along with Roberta's Blood Trail and (gulp) Hellsing TV. But at least Hellsing Ultimate VIII has been released in Japan already and they already announced when IX would be out.

Well, if it does, it better be released early in 2012 and it better use the same voice cast.
