Re: Haganai Discussion Thread

I've really liked this show so far. I'd buy it if it was released on DVD separately (not a combo pack) when released.

When/If it gets dubbed I wonder if Cherami Leigh and Blake Shepard will reprise their characters for the Sacred Blacksmith parody scene.

I'm also on Team Sena!

Though Kodaka will probably end up with Yozora (with their history) unless he ends up with everybody (harem ending) or nobody.

Re: Haganai Discussion Thread

From the deffinition the series sounds intersting, a group of anti-social people getting together, starting a club in an attempt to make friends....wish I had thought of that when I was a kid, lol.

Deffinantly check it out when I can.

Re: Haganai Discussion Thread

This is soo close to my life. I was the social outcast. Hardly had any friends.

This series has been good thus far. Looking forward to the streams here. Another good pickup for Funi.

Ok so one thing I gotta know, is since they announced the deal with Niconico, they been announcing streaming rights left and right. Does this mean ALL the titles (asides Guilty Crown) Getting a home release? Cause I really like where this series is going and don't wanna be teased lol.

So awesome that FUNi picked this up, it is by far the best series of the season!
(Not counting the Heavy weights HxH and Gundam)

I really hope they get physical distro rights for this, I will definitely be buying it!!

This show is surprisingly amusing, but it's still a pretty generic harem show. Complete with not one, but two tsunderes, a trap and a loli.

The best part about the show is Buriki's character designs, which you can see with Shaft's superior animation in Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko.

Re: Haganai Discussion Thread

how is the third episode because I while I like the concept and the orginal episode quite a bit.
the OAD and the second episode where not funny enough parody me, unlike oreimo which this show is trying to be it seems. and ends up being the opposite. while oreimo ended up failing at most of it's serious moments and being a halirous parody of every aspect of anime culture minus episode 11 and 12 orginal, this one hits the right notes with it's serious mements, and missing just enough it's comedy for me to pass it over

@kingdomkey101 - I don't see this as trying to be Oriemo. That was one episode about one of the characters getting addicted to gal games, though it seems that she was pretty hard-core about the monster hunting game too.

The parts about the inability of the two girls to really understand social situations are generally the best. If the show is able to show growth in some way for the characters, while providing some laughs, I think it will be a success. What I fear is that it will become too much of a formulaic show with the characters always reacting according to type and not growing.

So far, it looks promising, but it could become stale.

I agree with everything you said except for this is not try to be oreimo. since A a lot of oreimo was about kirino finding a place where she could socially connect with other people. B kirino and kureno seem very simular to barbie and shana (I am sorry I forgot their real names but that is who they look like) with their constant fighting and it is not as funny. C) it is from the same exact people (the same branch of the same company) who brought us oreimo D) I do not see this show being able to stay good, granted I thought that after almost every episode preview of oreimo, but this show doesn't have the creative power that oreimo did, and the OAD was not that funny to me, and I think that is what it will turn into.
