Getting this licensed by FUNimation was the most happiest license I've ever found out about. Couple of questions to get things sparked.
1) What do you expect from this show? do you think it will be a hit?
2) What drew you into watching this?
3) First Impressions? <---what you think of the staff, cast, trailers, songs OP and EDs, art. all that?
just 2 questions
feel free to answer them if you want or just talk about the series since i will be creating an Anime Discussion thread once the show's first episode airs.
Here is my reason for why I already love the show.
1)Production I.G. = They always seem to make great anime
2) Kayano Ai and Kaji Yuki casted as the main characters who I are both my Favorite female and male voice actors of all time.
3) Hiroyuki Sawano and supercell are both amazing, Hiroyuki is one of my 3 favorite music composers (Takanashi Yasuharu and Anant-Garde Eyes being the other 2) and supercell I've been listening to before I started anime.
4) redjuice did the character designs...who is my all-time favorite japanese manga artist ever.
5) The director for directed some really great anime like Aoi Bungaku, Death Note and Highschool of the Dead.
6) The. art. of. the. series. is. AMAZING.
There's just so much that this anime has already done in terms of satisfy my top likes in anime
.

I'm glad Funimation picked this up, my only complaint...OK this is a Noitamina series that hasn't even aired yet..and you already picked it up..yet we still don't have additional "Physical Release" rights for Tatami Galaxy or HOFL. C'mon Funi.... your killin me.. I gotta Havez me Tatami on Blu-ray..I just gotsta!
Anyway, yeah deffinantly gonna be getting this & the other noitaminA releases from Funimation in 2012.
The Revolutoin Will be Televised once more, Every Saturday Night! Can you hear the Absolution?
lol well I have never seen those shows you mentioned xD. I'm just glad they picked this up since I DID NOT*** want a subbed only release, those are the worst, especially if they are simulcasted before hand since you can just watch it on the computer.
I hope this gets an early 2012 release, like maybe Spring 2011 or early summer
.

You can;t get Blu Rays for anime because of reverse importatation.
Its a wierd problem with Japan charging arms and legs for anime, and if the Blu Ray was available here, at Blu Ray Prices of the states they would just import it from the states.
so Funimation isn't allowed to do a Blu Ray until after Japan does its Blu Ray.
or something.
regardless when does the simulcast AIR exactly? the show aired what 3 hours ago? any longer and a fansub group will beat them to the punch.
I'll try making this into the general discussion thread instead of starting a new one. Everything is in spoilers that need be for those who haven't seen the episode yet.
The way they chose to lead into the series for the first 4 minutes was an excellent choice I believe. One thing I have to mention is an obvious trope in this series
Especially for a series that is starting with the anime and getting the manga adaption next month, I think they've established there presence well enough.
I have to agree that the choice to have Tetsuro Araki direct this series looks to be a current pay off but I really want to wait and see.
Also,
I have been searching and searching for a new anime to get into and I think I found it!
First I wanna say, LOVE THE MUSIC IN THIS!!!! I love Supercell so much. He's doing BRS too, so that's exciting :D Gotta agree with NeumanProductions, love Tsugumi's character design. This had a great start and I can't wait for episode 2. Hopefully it won't be one of those anime which has a great start and then ends with a flop.
PATTY THOMPSON FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Having seen the first episode, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by it. I thought I wouldn't like it but I did. Interesting to note that it's got Mecha in it.
My Animation Appreciation forum
My attitude after watching the first ep:
A few too many shounen cliches for me to be truly excited, but it's well done and at least this time the main character turns out to have a pair before the end of the first episode! I don't think I could stand another anime where the MC is a whining coward for half the series.
I'm going to follow this one for a few weeks, anyway.

I just felt weird watching this I didn't think enough was explained yet there were some major shonen cliches that I could understand. I give it an ok so far, though it was a very pretty show to look at.
I knew nothing about this show before watching the first episode and i quite liked it alot. It had a bit of a Code Geass vibe to me, and i can't wait to see the next episodes.
