My pervert of a friend recommended Gantz for me... The dub was as high a quality as MXC (I kid). I started to watch it, though, for character development and ignored the voice acting--which wasn't THAT bad. The anime made me freaking sad! The characters you flowersing hate are cast into some horrible situations--and the lucky ones (which were practically ALL of them) died; and when they did, they made me regret ever hating them... If an anime can do that to a person like me, it's good.
I watched the Gantz live action movie a while back. The dub was just terrible. It's too bad Funi didn't get this
