Re: Tales of the Abyss 3DS port coming to North America

There wasn't much going for me when i heard about the 3DS other than its 3D features and it was an upgrade from my Dslite XD The only game that had me going for it was Nintendogs: cats and dogs which i heard was just old regular nintendogs with cats XD I was emensley depressed when i didnt see Tales of the abyss appear on the game line up. I was fed up with Namco not localizing things here but when i heard this the 3DS was no doubt on my list :D Its a shame about the voices though it hard to adjust to playing TOS2 and then playing TOS and hear no voices during the skits.

Vesperia had voiced skits in both the Japanese and western releases. The Japanese version of Abyss had them, but they removed them to save space for the extras included in the North American release on the PS2.

Also DOTNW had them as well. Which both games were completely voiced.

They've talked about a sequel to Abyss, but haven't yet come up with something that would be good enough for a full game.

If this happened I would cry from joy tear

Re: Tales of the Abyss 3DS port coming to North America

I just recently got into the Tales series after playing Tales of Symphonia. I can't wait for this! Though... I'm gonna have to until I can get a 3DS. They cost more than a wii xD that's just wrong in my opinion.

Even so I wanna play this! Can't wait to see and hear more about it.

Well the Wii is almost 5 years old now. The 3DS isn't a year old yet. So comparing the two is kinda not fair. Especially when the Wii just had a second price drop. tongue

Re: Tales of the Abyss 3DS port coming to North America

Personally I hate Namcos attitude towards Tales fans, getting a Tales game from them is like getting blood from a stone, they know Tales has a huge fanbase, well not as big as Final Fantasy but still big but they insist on bringing in small scale titles that they know will sell, we're still overdue Tales of Graces(Wii), Tales of Innocence/Hearts(DS), Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Rebirth, Tales of VS, Tales of The World Radiant Mythology 2 and 3 etc(PSP) and Tales of Vesperia(PS3) and its questionable if we will get Xillia too, While I'm happy we're getting this, I would rather see some of the more recent games brought over.

I have most of those games listed, but still, would be nice hearing those dubbed.

Re: Tales of the Abyss 3DS port coming to North America

Eh. I didn't really like Tales of the Abyss the first time around... Half of the main party was quite annoying to me, the plot was different than normal, but a bit boring to me, and the graphics were meh. Not to mention that the free running was broken so the game was pretty easy even during a normal run.

I just played the game to hear Jade's snarky comments anyway. heart
