I have a few cards too on this one that seem to go along with what you have Blight.
I also want to say it is exceedingly rude to call video game reviewers "elitist idiots". A lot of are fans just like us, especially a few of the ones I have talked to. Yeah, there are a few bad ones out there but they are not the rule, they are the exceptions. I also want to point out that your comments offends me as I am working on getting in the video game journalism so I would appreciate it if you only use constructive criticism rather than blind hate when talking about a select group of people. That would be appreciated since I am not the only person on this site that is working on getting into video game journalism.
(Sidenote: I would have wrote this earlier but I did not notice his comment about video game reviewers earlier.)
Thank you, Canine, your comment is appreciated. Let's not forget this thread is about suggesting games and not bashing the ones suggested, seems counter productive.
Blight, your statistics are incomplete. Are you actually ignorant enough to think every fan waltzes into your little store.
And Canine, I don't care if you're offended, all the evidence I have seen suggests that my comment is true. The one good Video Game reviewer I've ever seen was fired for doing a thorough job. Certainly seems like that isn't the exception.

I think more fans waltz into my store than your home. Are you ignorant enough to believe more people dislike a critically acclaimed game like this one than like it??
What reviewer are you referring to?
You make a lot of claims without a single shred of evidence to back it up, you know. Hard to argue with nothing but hot air on your side.
I agree with Blight's comments and I would like to know which reviewer you are referring to as well.
Also I want to point out that I do not mind being offended on something if there is data showing what you have stated. It is ignorant to judge an entire group of people based on an opinion of one website. Yeah, I will agree that a lot of game reviewers on some sites are not really qualified, in my opinion, to do their job that does not mean they all are unqualified. Giant Bomb, 1UP and Game Informer all have reviewers that I respect, albeit Game Informer less than the other 2. IGN and Gamespot may have their own issues with either biased towards who paying for their ads or journalists who have not played games before 2002 but other sites do usually have educated staff and unbiased opinions, although I will note that Gamespot has been improving in some areas as they are the first video game media site to have a transgender video game reviewer.
I am not saying that everything is perfect in the video game journalism but that there are plenty of places where the people who review video games are people who know what they are talking about and are fans just like us.

Are you ignorant enough to belive all people walk into your store?

Junglist (His real name is Jeremy something), former host and creator of the TV show good game. He got fired because he refused to do reviews on games he hadn't completed.

Really? You've claimed it's good because a few reviewers and some people you met in a shop thought so. I illustrated the errors in those claims.
Meanwhile I've claimed that it isn't good because of the developer and their work post-KOTOR.
So far it's 1-0 to me.

What's that got to do with how good their reviews are?

It's a possibility. But I've yet to see such a place. Right now the gaming industry is dominated by idiot reviewers, dull developers and Xbox kiddies lapping up whatever crap they're given.

Okay, as much as I would like to keep this debate going I have to say we should probably get back on topic with recommending games for the person who requested it. If anyone wants to keep this debate going then they should create a new thread probably so that we do not get this thread, which was created to help someone, closed due to it being off topic.
A game outside if Mass Effect (which I still recommend despite one person's dislike for no valid reason) would be if you're looking for a newer game: L.A. Noire. It's a bit slower moving, but the narrative is really well done, ajd the motion capture is phenomenal!! If you've ever pretended to be a detective, this is the gake for you.
Whilst this thread is still open, I'd like to ask you guys if you have ever played Demon Souls?
I've been looking at trailers and gameplay about it and looks very interesting but just wondered if anyone could give me any feedback on it?
I heard it gets harder every time you die which I like the sound of
But I'd feel more comfertable possibly buying the game if I had some feedback from some people who have played the game. If you guys don't mind ^.^

Haven't played the game. But I can ensure you I'm done arguing, so the thread should stay open.
