Suggest me games!

Hey guys, whilst the NGP won't be released till around the end of this year, I want to play many games but I'm stuck on choice... so I've got a few genre's I want you guys to pick games for me in those certain genres ^_^

Fighting
Racing
Adventure
Action

Please no one say any Call Of Duty games because I dislike them now, I play Call Of Duty 4 now and then but that's it.

Re: Suggest me games!

Not certain if any of these suggestions are games you'd enjoy, but here are some suggestions anyway (All are for Playstation 3).

Fighting:
-BlazBlue
-Soul Caliber IV
-Street Fighter IV
-Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm and its sequel (I’d actually classify the Naruto games as action disguised as fighter games)

Racing:
-Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (Don’t play many racing games, but I think this one is very fun. There is, however, no manual shifting [as far as I know] and has a slightly more arcade feel as opposed to realistic simulation)

Action/Adventure:
-Darksiders (aka Zelda lite)
-Vanquish (Sci-fi third-person shooter with traits similar to an ‘80s action flick: fast-paced, gratuitous violence and profanity, shallow plot, and lots of fun)
-Bayonetta (Gameplay is similar to Devil May Cry, PS3 version has very long loading times, though I believe a patch was released which resolved this)

Re: Suggest me games!

Blight is right on with his Mass Effect recommendation. But since you have a PS3 and can't pick up the first Mass Effect game (unless your PC is powerful enough to run the PC version of Mass Effect), I recommend Mass Effect 2. You'll get an interactive motion comic with all the major decision points from the first game so that you can properly set things up for your Mass Effect 2 experience. The Mass Effect games are action/RPG games. The first Mass Effect was heavier on RPG aspects, but the second game is heavier on the action. Mass Effect 2 is a great alternative to all the samey FPS games out there.

One very neat thing about the Mass Effect games is that you can design the face of your character - male or female - to look however you want them to look. You can play as a hero of your own design.

Anyway, here's a PS3 gameplay demo featuring the introductory stage of the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifMZ2FLQNxI

Also... It's not out yet, but you might want to check out a demo of the third-person action game Alice: Madness Returns when the game is released on June 14th. (Or the demo might be out before the full game is released. Not sure.) The original Alice (by studio American McGee) is a PC classic. Alice: Madness Returns is the sequel. When it comes to story, the Alice games are basically what Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland should have been. They're dark and disturbing with a Wonderland that has become twisted as Alice's mind has slipped into insanity in real life after her parents tragically died in a fire.

As a bonus, you would get access to the complete first Alice game if you bought a new copy of Alice: Madness Returns.

Here's a trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xK3EIZG5rsk

Re: Suggest me games!

Fighting:

-Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm
-Tekken 6
-Dragon Ball: Raging Blast (Number 2 sucks, so go with the first)

Racing:

-Burnout: Paradise
-Modnation Racers
-Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit

Action/Adventure:

-God of War: collection
-God of War 3
-Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 and 2
-Mirrors Edge

@Blight and Shift: Even if you do like Mass Effect (Although you'd have to be mad, Bioware went crap after KOTOR), it's an RPG, and he didn't ask for those.

Re: Suggest me games!

It's an action adventure with lots of RPG elements. Your opinion is to be taken with a grain of salt since Mass Effect is hailed as one of the best game series of all time, something Force Unleashed is NOT been blessed with.

Re: Suggest me games!

I would actually recommend Raging Blast 2 of the first but neither are especially good.

Here would be my recommendations.

-God of War Collection + God of War 3
-Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
-Rachet and Clank franchise that is on PS3 (2 disc games and 1 downloadable)
-Batman: Arkham Asylum
-LittleBigPlanet 2 (Do not worry about getting 1, it is not necessary. You can even download the DLC for the first game on the second game.)
-Borderlands
-Bioshock 1 + 2 (Personally I would say only get 2 for cheap and then play the DLC Minerva's Den as 2 is not that different from the first game.)
-Wipeout HD (Downloadable game. Also is part of the Welcome Back program from Sony so you can get it free if you choose.)
-Infamous (It is part of the Welcome Back program from Sony so you can get it free if you choose as a downloadable game.)
-Braid (Downloadable game.)

Sorry about recommending so many downloadable games while the Playstation Store is down but I figured I should promote them as well, especially since you can get a couple of them for free once the store is back up.

Re: Suggest me games!

Thanks to all for the recommendations. I've purchased Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit and absolutely loving it at the moment.

@canine224

Thanks for the downloadable recommendations. I do like some mini games, and Wipeout is actually one of the games I will be getting through the Welcome Back from SONY.

If so, do you or anyone else know any other good downloadable mini games on the PSN Store? Whilst it's down for maintenance, I'll make a list of a few mini games I may be interested in getting through PSN Store.
