Re: "Sonic is Done... He dosen't need more games..."
Just like Mario, I don't see Sonic fading from popularity ANYTIME soon and for good reason. Whether it be an adventure game or a party-like multiplayer game, they're all good or almost all of them are good enough to play, not to mention Sonic's fanbase is what made him stand the test of time and become the long lasting mascot of SEGA.
There's gonna be more Sonic for years to come...as long as the Sonic Team gets their stuff together and not screw up on some games like they have a few times.
Re: "Sonic is Done... He dosen't need more games..."
Afew? More like all the time. The sonic creators had no clue what they were thinking. And mario isnt a true comparison. Mario was intaduced waaaaaaaay before sonic. To make sonic it required much technology and even so, it was bad. Mega man went the same way. It was first a manga, then a tv show, then a production line, then the game, guse what? The game went belly up. Bam! Dead. Mega man was a awesome anime, but it wasnt ment for gaming. In some ways sonic should have stayed a tv show.
Re: "Sonic is Done... He dosen't need more games..."
Umm...in both of those cases, the games were the original source material and thus came first.
As for whether or not they were good, that's your opinion.
If you were to ask me, I'm not sure there were even a few genuinely lacking titles. Maybe one or two. [out of those I've played]
Also...considering Sonic was very much Mario's rival in terms of the competition between the two companies, it's a pretty fair comparison. [In more ways than one, said franchise is very much Sega's answer to the other]
Re: "Sonic is Done... He dosen't need more games..."
What Ninja Said, Megaman & Sonic both started out as games. Although it was the American Cartoons & Comics that first game a legit cannon to the Sonic universe (the modern SEGA Sonic cannon didn't start till 1998, where as the U.S. Archie/Satam cannon started in 93, as did the British Fleetway cannon.)
But back on topic, Megaman & Sonic are still great characters & Franchises, they just need the right person to come along and work on their games. And again sonic has slowly gotten back on track since Unleashed.
Also, I really wish SEGA would do a Sonic Rush 3, I really loved those games, (and not just because i'm a huge Blaze the Cat fan. ) I would love to see a Sonic Rush 3 for 3DS!
Re: "Sonic is Done... He dosen't need more games..."
I used to be a fan of the old Genesis games but haven't really played any Sonic games in years, not since Sonic Heroes. Even though I haven't had any interest in the franchise, I've notice, just like everyone else, that Sonic has been going downhill for a long time. Sega's been pulling quick ideas and lame gimmicks out of their butts for a few years now. Unfortunately, they don't seem to know when to quit. The last several games have just been desperate attempts to revive the series to make money using an old classic. I think the best thing Sega can do is try and pull off a graceful exit for Sonic and just shelve the whole project. Maybe if they do it soon people might still remember the good old days of Sonic instead of the recent bull crap.

Ahem. Sonic Colors. Fantastic. Hedgehog back on track. How can I make this any clearer?
I haven't played any other 3D Sonic games aside from Adventure, so I'm probably not as jaded as some fans are. But give Colors a chance before you give up on Sonic. It's Sega finally knowing how to truly transition Sonic into 3D, and it plays excellently.

I'd have to disagree. There have been some failures, but I think some [especially Gameinformer] deeply exaggerate how deep it goes.
Otherwise, quite a few [both from the handheld and console field] have done a pretty good job at a fun adventure.

This.
Sonic is doing fine. It's fanbase isn't, and most likely never will be.
