The creator of Wing Commander, Chris Roberts, revealed a new game today called Star Citizen and it looks absolutely PHENOMENAL:

It's like a combination of Wing Commander, Privateer and Freelancer (all his previous games) with a singleplayer and multiplayer mode that tie into each other like in Demon's Souls/Dark Souls. There's a demo of what the game's engine looks like on a GDC stream that got archived too. I'm really excited for this, because I have played most of the WC games and Freelancer and they are all very well thought out titles.
