I'm annoyed that it took them 6 freaking days to tell us that our info had been stolen! That and there was new DLC announced for Dissidia 012 that came out the SAME day PSN was hacked, so I can't get it. I also have the download code for Cecil's outfit for Dissidia that I got in FF4 Complete Collection, but I can't get that until PSN is back up either.
I heard it was an 18 year old that was banned from the PS forums and decided they "needed to be punished." Any truth to this?

I'm indifferent to the downtime since I don't really use my PS3 much outside of my blus and the occasional game that does not require multiple players and the like.
They couldnt tell people before those days because they had no clue what was even taken. If they had to pull in an outside security firm, and as they said on the live conference this morning, that it was an extremely sophisticated method, then it shouldnt be baffling to understand why it took so long. You cant just run through 77mln accounts in one second. There are some major instances where it took more than a week to even find out how and what was taken out of the system.
There is also no truth to your last statement, FBI, and Homeland security are searching for the person so anyone claiming who it is, is probably not the person.
You should be able to use the DL code via the account management I thought. I can still download game updates even though PSN has been down.
Nope, the PSN store has to be active to use the DL code, at least, for the PSP it does.
I understand that they had millions of files to look through, but it's still sad they couldn't of given us an explanation to why it was down until 6 days later. They could have stated they were having problems with the server or that there was a security fault or SOMETHING. Instead, we were kinda left hanging.
Okay, I'd heard second hand about the kid supposedly hacking PSN, via Gyt I believe it was, so I wasn't sure how accurate it could be, thanks for clearing that up TristsAntithesis.

I am disappointed since according to this no Playstation Store access.
I want to point out that in Sony's article the rollout of services will include but is not limited to what they posted. With that information it is entirely possible that they may rollout more services but they do not know if they will be ready so they probably did not want to say one thing and deliver another.
Well it looks like Netflix is down for everyone now, at least from what I have heard at the current moment. For those that could still get in with the PSN down it will let you in to see your instant queue and recommended titles however when you go to play anything it will ask you to sign into the PSN again and once it says you cannot it will either give an error message about the video not being available or simply stop the video from loading any further than it has.
Here is to hoping this is on Netflix's side and not the PSN because I was at least happy I could still watch streaming content during the PSN outage.
EDIT: Well looks like it is working now so it may have been a Netflix. Glad I can still use that.
Sony has stated that the "PSN" will be definitely back online between FRIDAY (tomorrow) & SUNDAY 8th May, so that's our official dates that Sony has announced. Hopefully it will be Friday (tomorrow) & not Sunday, but we've been told so many days/dates I just don't know what will happen now. So that's the update guys, but if you would like to follow official updates yourself, this is the guy who works for Sony & is an official Sony rep. http://twitter.com/#!/RabidWalker
I hope iv helped, Add me on PSN when it is back online: Chris-CKT

Seems Netflix is still unavailable, hasn't worked for me since PSN went down.
